closing in on two!

the crazy haysie maysie baby is 22 months old today!

i will elaborate another time.  i am tired.  she may be the reason why i'm always tired.  but she is 22 months old and is beyond adorable.  she is also completely ticked off at the teeth she has busting through.  i'm a little angry at those mean guys as well, but this too shall pass.

hayes.  a whole bunch of feisty awesomeness squeezed in that little 22 month old body.

this & that. catching up continues.

i documented hayes's first egg hunt on this blog twice.  must be a sign of my tiredness or maybe i'm loosing it.  who knows.  anyway, double the cuteness.

we had a great easter here in mount pleasant with our little family of 4.  we went to church and to lunch.  thankfully we took pictures on palm sunday by our azalea bushes because on the friday night before easter a really hard rain and fierce wind really destroyed the flowers.  and neither of our kids were all about taking pictures on Easter and to be honest…i didn't even care.  i have pics of them in their easter dresses from school picture day.  and i have palm sunday pics in their cross dresses.  so easter was just a stress free family day where we just celebrated our risen savior.

we have completed the first phase of our kitchen renovations.  we're not doing any kind of demolition.  we are just giving it a face lift.  i've wanted to paint our oak cabinets white since we bought this house 6 years ago.  and we finally did it!  that is step one.  our painter comes either thursday or friday to paint the walls.

kitchen cabinets before….

and after….

it really lightened it up and now i really love our countertops!  they didn't go with the oak.  anyway, thought i'd document the progress.  when sk saw it she put her hands over her mouth and said, "oh my goodness, this is not even my kitchen!"

we went down to folkston last week during sk and h's spring break while the painting was going on in our kitchen.

we did a little of this…
well, not "we"!  the pool may be heated but it's still too cold for me because of the outside temp.  but sk had a blast.
and a little of that….
took the girls to the okefenokee for dinner one night.  i can't even count how many dinners i had at that place during my high school years - between this practice and that.  one of those places where i always knew about 99% of the people in there.

dana from bella blue photography took easter pictures in town on that monday so we decided to go and have pics taken with some cute baby chicks.  the girls were enamored!  and they both did really well holding the chicks.  hayes wanted to hold it by the neck or tail when she was chasing after it but once she was seated and had the chick placed in her lap she was much more gentle!

hayes kept making that face while saying "oooooooo!!!"

sweet sweet girls.  both of them!
one day it rained all day so we went to jacksonville to the mall and visited the disney store, ate at moe's, and rode the train.

my 3 babies…ha!  but seriously.  dumbo is my son - his birthday is july 7th (the day after sk's).  he'll be 4.  he likes peanuts more than anything.  his trunk gives great tickles that can heal any boo-boo or sickness.  sometimes he sticks his trunk under our noses and says, "MUSTACHE" in a really funny way.  he has a VERY interesting accent that i can't even describe.  he likes to "rock out."  his favorite colors are gray, red and yellow (duh.)  when it's his turn to tell God what he is thankful for he says peanuts.  every time.  soooo……ha!  her imagination.  i do find myself telling him good night before "he" even says it.  i sometimes call him mr. blue eyes.  we are enablers…..for 2 years and counting.
backtracking a little…..the first day of their spring break was friday, april 11th.  in true lucy girls fashion we went to the beach.
hayes loves the beach as much as sk.  she loves the tidal pool even more!  and she thinks she can swim.   she loves loves loves the water.  yesterday during breakfast she said, "beach mama, beach!" so i said, "do you want to go to the beach?" and she replied, "i do!"  ha! sk junior answering me like that!

picnic=)

and later that evening we took the girls to the strawberry festival at boone hall farms…(fair basically)..
can you just see the germs!!!  i couldn't get them in the tub (for the second time that day) fast enough!!
oh and one more thing we discovered while in folkston….we may have a future ga tech yellow jacket on our hands!  nerd.  lego fanatic.  and she can build!!

that's all the catching up i can do for now!  in the words of hayes, "i tired!"

april. a lengthy catch up post.

busy month.

last sunday was palm sunday.  our pastor delivered the best palm sunday sermon i've ever heard.  and sk sang with the angel notes choir and we enjoyed watching her - she loves choir.

waiting to sing!  (for a long time!)

we took a few pics after the service and before brunch.
kissy sissy!

they are really sweet together!  luckily these sweet sister moments occur much more frequently than the fighting sister moments and it's much easier to catch these moments on camera because i'm refereeing the other moments.

tickled

my girls…we have so much fun with these 2 girls!!
we've been to a few egg hunts lately.  i took hayes to a public one here in mount pleasant one day while sk was at school.  sk had her class party/ egg hunt last thursday while hayes was at school.  and then we had a birthday party/egg hunt last saturday that both girls participated in.  glad we've had a few because our church's egg hunt tomorrow was cancelled because of the rain.  we may float right off into the atlantic tonight.  seriously!

hayes finding eggs at alhambra hall

hayes had never been to an egg hunt before but not to worry…"i do it mama."  and she did.

little chat with laura catherine.  hayes is thinking, "how did you get more than me?! give me some."

her first egg find.

sarah kate had a blast at her class easter party and hunt!  it was at her friend, alden's house and she played her little heart out.  and found "a dozen" eggs.
sweet group of 4 year olds.  sarah kate has always been in the "younger" class since she has a late bday so these kids are  the "younger 4's" and are just now starting to turn 5 this month.  the bday invitations have been rolling in and after every one sk asks, "so, is ____going to be in my class tomorrow now that their 5?  cause i'm in 4A which is for 4 year olds not 5 year olds! will they move to the 5 year old class?"  ha!  she'll be like me and will always be the same age the whole school year….no school celebrations for us summer babies!
fun on the swing set.  flying high!

fun in the bounce house

look at that face!  don't think i have to say that she did NOT bust the piƱata but she surely gave it a good whack!

annual easter party pic with alden.  if i had the time or energy i would post the past pics but i have neither.  this is their 4th year being in the same class and i have pics of them from all 4 years.  they are off to different kindergartens next year but i'm sure we'll still dye eggs with the murrell girls next easter.

telling mimi bye!  my mom came up for sk's little easter performance last wednesday and she also went to her easter party with us last thursday.  it was fun having her stay 2 nights!!  she usually only stays for one.  trey and i squeezed in a fun date night while she was here of course;)

sk's school easter performance.  the kindergarteners acted out the play and then the 4 and 5 year olds sang (a bunch of songs!!)  she's in a yellow shirt 2nd row up.
the last egg hunt we went to was a birthday party for a little girl whose family is one that we love spending time with.  laura catherine turned 2.

look who thinks she's as big as the big girls!

so proud of her!  i mean, she didn't win the race or anything but she happily hopped all the way "there and back."  i bet even just a year ago she wouldn't have wanted to do this.  she would have deemed it too hard or scary because she would have been worried about falling.  progress in the physical department!

my little hayes loves a party!!  shocking i know.

birthday girl.  worked on that cupcake for a solid hour i bet.

sugar high.  egg hunt high.  easter high.  april high.  whew this girl has had a good time!

a sentence.

i opened the fridge yesterday and hayes looked in and said, "i see my milk."  a complete sentence spoken correctly needs documentation!  she would normally say something like, "i see milk."  that's still a complete sentence i guess but throwing the "my" in there is note worthy.  she's not really a baby anymore i guess!

BUT she sure looks like a sweet precious baby in this pic.  with her beloved paci.  worn out after a fun day at school.

another new phrase…."i get cozy."  "cozy!!!!"  "i cozy!"  "i need banket, get cozy."  ha!  soooo, maybe she does have some sarah kate and katie in her.

planting

sk wasn't leaving the nursery without pink petunias!  she takes great care of them.

hometeam bbq, icecream, and puddle stomping
visiting daddy at work

hayes at 21 months…...our extrovert.  we die over this child daily.  seriously, i could eat her….she is so lively and fun and CUTE!  even when she's being naughty.  she knows she's funny and she likes it.  she has become a song bird….sings constantly.  her favorite song is wheels on the bus but she appeases sissy everyday on the way to school and sings along to the frozen soundtrack just fine.  she tries to speak in sentences more lately…"i see ball", "i see boats daddy", "i get it", "i do it", "daddy where?"  and one of my favorites is "mama hold you" when she wants me to pick her up.  she counts 1, 2, 4, 6, 9!  9 is her favorite number.

sweet sarah kate.  my introvert.  the creative thinker who can spend hours pretending.  she's getting close to 5!  yikes!  she is registered for kindergarten and is excited!

community egg hunt.  of course hayes knew what to do….miss independent needs no help.

hanging with her little friend, laura catherine.

her very first egg find!  "i get it mama."

waiting on sissy to finish up at choir practice.  hayes was covered in dirt from head to toe by the end of this day!

ha….same age, totally different bed hair!   no tears with kid #2!
