october: the rest of the story.

my last post left out the last week of october which was a busy one!

on mondays, hayes and i do a mommy/me ballet class.  she loves it.  the monday before halloween they read a spider book and at the end of the class they dressed up as spiders so here is hayesie spider=)

on wednesday sarah kate had her boosterthon fundraiser fun run at her school where she ran laps for $.  she did great!!  my mom, hayes and i were there to cheer her along.  trey was in atlanta and so he had to miss out but i took some video footage.  who knew my slow moving girly girl could move so speedy fast? ha!

this big kindergartener loves her school so much!

after supporting sissy at her big run, we took hayesie bird to the park for a picnic and to play.   that's mimi under that hat;)

on thursday hayes's class had their halloween parade.  here is my cheerleader with ames, her peacock friend first thing in the morning.

hayes cried and cried for the class picture.  she saw me, trey and my mom cheering her on as she walked in the parade and then she wanted us!  and she was overwhelmed.

she went on in and enjoyed her class party and her teacher said she had a great day.  i was glad she didn't stay sad for too long.

then came friday.  friday morning at 2 am, sk threw up.  the tummy bug went around our neighborhood pretty hard core.  luckily she never got sick after that but the virus completely wiped her out.  so she missed school on halloween which means she missed their big kindergarten camp out.  they were in tents in the classroom and then did hotdogs, smores and such outside at the campsite.  they used flashlights inside - no electricity.  all these things sk had talked about all week.  she couldn't wait!  and then she got sick.  such is life….disappointments will be a part of her life forever.  but i hated it for her so much.

we couldn't go to our neighborhood halloween party either.  but we did go to a few houses to trick or treat.  sk didn't have much energy for it but she wanted to try.  hayes had plenty of energy for both of them combined.

cutest cheerleaders in the world!  love them!  sk said, "well, i can't go trick or treating with the neighbors but i'll still have hayes so that's one friend at least."  ha!  hayes will do.

saturday she was still completely wiped out.  she slept in the big chair on/off throughout the day.

all of the above pics were from my phone.

a few from my big camera:

fun run….

here comes sk's class!  her teacher is in the front (crazy sock day that day) leading them out.  she is so fun and full of energy!

they walked the first lap.  sk chose halloween socks for crazy sock day:)

the 3 "s" girls after the run: sarah kate, savannah, and sally.  cute friends=)
 the parade….
h drug her teacher along.  she was ready to GO!

trick or treating

and that's it!  all of october in 2 posts.  i'm going to try to do better in november!  either that or i'll have to quit the blog.  i really dislike these long catch up posts. it's already november 9th and i'm just finishing october so i realize i'm off to a poor start.

our october in pictures.

i guess i should just give up our little family blog - i clearly am not finding the time to update!  in october 2011, when sk was h's age,  i wrote like 15 posts.  poor hayes.  and it's unfortunate because hayes is quite possibly the funniest human being ever to live so things should be documented.

right now, trey is up at urgent care because he sounds like he has bronchitis or something.  sk is curled up in the big chair watching my little pony and trying to recover from the stomach bug.  hayes is wreaking havoc on the house.  and i thought i'd put up some october pics on the blog to document our happenings.  aside from having hand, foot, mouth disease and now the recent tummy bug, october was pretty fun and flew by!

september brought us rain and october brought us sunny skies.  so you know where we spend all our time if it's not raining!

trey and i went to see widespread.  it was so fun and we got to catch up with lots of friends.

the day after widespread is when we discovered the hand, foot, mouth for sk.  she really had a mild case but it doesn't matter how horrible or mild….we were quarantined for about 5 days.  we ran up to a local church's pumpkin patch and picked up a couple to paint.  sk painted a pirate pumpkin on the left.  i'm not sure what hayes did but it's kinda crazy like her!

at the doctor waiting for the verdict….can we return to the land of the living or are we still quarantined?  we were given the green light.  thank goodness.  SO MANY PRAYERS for  kiddos out there who are sick with no end in sight.  sk prays every single day for her cousin hannah who is in this situation.  it's just awful.  we hate being sick but are beyond grateful that we are otherwise healthy and are able to resume activities.

oh taking pics of these 2 is so difficult.

october boat ride one friday after school.

dinner on the boat while the sun begins to set….lowcountry living can't be beat:)

i reeled in this shark.  all we've ever caught is shark.  really makes you want to get out in the ocean and do some swimming doesn't it!?
we went to the pumpkin patch one very HOT october saturday morning.  the girls had a blast.  they enjoyed picking pumpkins, petting animals, a spooky hayride, big bouncy bubble, and the corn maze which we really could have gotten lost in since we didn't get a map.  did i mention how hot it was?

hayes loves goats

she likes pigs, too.  basically any animal.  she wants a new doggie so bad!

which way do we go?  sk loved the corn maze and didn't want to leave it.  she was our guide.  it was interesting.

my girls!  sk dressed herself!  hayes is wearing the same pumpkin dress that sk wore at that age but seeing sk in her pink cowgirl boots meant that hayes just had to wear hers too!

lucy family selfie on the hayride=)

the way our schedule is now, i don't always have a chance to put hayes down for a crib nap but when i do she climbs out.  she will go and get in her big girl bed that is in her room or will go sit in her rocking chair and "read."  hayes loves books as much as sissy does!  several times though she has climbed out and fallen asleep somewhere in her room.  this pic was the day of the pumpkin patch.  she was just so tired that she fell asleep like this!
we never get to see daddy during his work days so we jumped at the chance to have lunch with him one day while sis was at school!

hayes and i pick sissy up on the bike sometimes if the weather is nice.  sk loves dismissing as a "walker" instead of her usual "car rider" from time to time and i get in an extra work out!

my pumpkin!  still loves a playground more than any kid i've ever met.
a hayesie funny just occurred…..she walks by me and i say, "something stinks, hayes did you go poopy?"  hayes says…."uh, no i not go poopy.  dat daddy.  daddy stinks." ha!
so, trey is back.  he has a sinus infection and possibly acute bronchitis.  he'll take antibiotics for it.

back to pictures galore.

trey and "jon jon" had their annual golf trip weekend so the girls and i spent that friday night in st. marys with ash and the girls (where hayes loved all over coop coop dog) and that saturday night in folkston.

who knew you could twirl markers in a bowl of water and create a super powerful potion??

h: "look, mommy!  i doin' it!"

sk and mimi made cinnamon swirl muffins

another "walker" dismissal day for sk!  hayes brushing up on her  eric carle

sweet, crazy, cutie haysie!

this girl loves spending time at the park

silly sisters!

crazy dinner with friends after dance!

wedding weekend in edisto with great friends!  thanks to mimi and papa for having the girls down in folkston for the weekend.  a good time had by all!

boo!
that's all i have time for today!  the rest of october to come……maybe.  ha!
