happy Easter!

I serve a risen Saviour,
He's in the world today

I know that He is living,
Whatever men may say

I see His hand of mercy,
I hear His voice of cheer

And just the time I need Him
He's always near.

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives
today!

He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way.

He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!

You ask me how I know He lives:

He lives within my heart.

guess who is sick....

ha, well apparently dumbo has a really bad cold.  but he's not the real reason we were at the dr. today.

using dumbo as her pillow.  they are best friends!!

this sweet girl is the reason.  sk woke up just fine yesterday morning and played.  we got dressed because we were planning to go to the aquarium after lunch, but then she got quiet and i found her asleep.  she doesn't nap anymore!  she had a fever.  so far that has been her only symptom.  the doctor said she is probably fighting a little virus plus she had signs of allergy struggles (darn pollen count is driving everyone crazy around here!)

she missed our church egg hunt this morning but we didn't really talk too much about it so she didn't seem to care.

we dyed eggs with her today.

i hope she is fever free tomorrow so that we can go to church.  if we go then i'll have her sit with us the whole time instead of sending her to childcare.  i don't really know what she has or if she's contagious.  i just want her to be well!  she's had the sickest year so far.  she doesn't seem to feel bad until her fever starts to rise but the ibuprofen knocks it out and then you'd never know anything is wrong.  i keep waiting for the nose to run, cough to start or vomit to come....so far so good.

i want her to feel good & enjoy her spring break at mimi & papa's with ava & bryce.

i'd like little sis to stay well too, of course!  (that's silly for me to say.  who says, "man i hope my kids get sick." but you know...)

she thinks she's big!

hayes and i went to target this afternoon which she enjoyed because she got to ride up in the front of the cart like a big girl.  she's such a good little baby.  she just munched on her mum-mum snack and then talked a little before sucking on her paci for a while.  it's so funny because when sk was her age she was such a ham!  she loved to see and be seen.  she smiled and waved at everyone.  well, not hayes.  when people stop and talk to her or smile at her she looks at them like they can go straight to you know where.  she's like, "if you think i'm going to crack a smile at you then you got another thing coming...i don't know you!"

i was able to finish up my easter bunny shopping.  sk is going to be shocked.  the big bunny has never brought her anything other than a few books and a bathing suit and some eggs.  it's still not all that much but it's more than usual.
sk told me tonight that "easter is all about God's son....and a little bit about yellow flowers.  not pink flowers or purple flowers but yellow flowers that He made."  ha!  alright....easter is all about Jesus and yellow flowers.  that's fine as long as she knows it's not about all that stuff in her basket.

this is unrelated to easter or being sick or anything of any importance - like all cats, ours likes to hide.  but bella is horrible at hiding her tail.  it's always sticking out.  dead give away.  wonder if she does it on purpose?

9 months.

hayes - you are 9 months old!!!  you've been in our lives longer than you were in my belly!

you've been busy during your ninth month!  your newest accomplishments are:
*you grew a tooth (bottom left)
*you became a crawler (full time as of tuesday)
*you can pull up to a standing position - you have done this on mommy & on daddy while we are sitting on the floor with you.
*you like avocado.
*still napping twice a day.  still sleeping 12 hours at night (praise the Lord!). still in size 3 diapers. still the messiest, drooliest baby i've ever known.

stats are unknown.  we will go to your 9 month appointment in april.

here is haysie at birth:

9 months:

crawling off the chair....
don't worry - i caught her!

we are safer on the floor!
i know hayes could pass for a boy.  her hair is so fine and "slippery" - can't get a bow to stay in!  oh well....one day!

pulling up on mama....

we love our paci!!!!

up to no good....
we have plugged up most of the outlets with covers.  the playroom isn't a safe place for her to play without my constant attention.  we are working with sk to get all her little tiny things picked up and all (princess shoes, scissors, etc.)!

what a wonderful, BUSY, ACTIVE, precious, cute, sweet and snuggly little lady!
we just love you, hayes lucy!!!

egg hunt & party.

yesterday was sarah kate's egg hunt and easter party at school.  it was her last day before spring break - so technically, we're on spring break!  the weather is so cold this week so they hunted eggs in a neighboring classroom then had their easter snacks in their classroom.  my mom came up tuesday night, kept the girls for trey and i to go to dinner, and then went to sk's school party before heading back to folkston (after a quick trip to moe's of course).  we were so glad to have her come up!  one of her dogs tore his ACL so it has been hard for her to get away much.  he needs constant care but is getting better.

our little lucy family is spending easter here in charleston this year.  the girls and i will leave monday for folkston and some warmer weather.  the twins share the same break dates as sk so they are going to spend part of it together and sk is thrilled.

some pics!!
sk found her 12 eggs so fast that i didn't even get any pics of her "hunting"!  mimi practiced with her before she left for school and i think she's officially an egg-finding pro. ha!

sk - trying to wait patiently to eat.  it takes them all a while to get their hands washed and seated.  they said the lord's prayer - i was impressed, sk knows it pretty well.  i'm not sure why sk was in such a hurry to eat.  she likes nothing on her plate.  she does not eat chicken nuggets (weirdo - who doesn't like chick-fil-a??), she does not like applesauce anymore and she does not like cheetos.  but she sure did slurp down that capri sun!

ahhh, the cookie - now that is something she loved!!!

sk and her friend, caroline....

mommy & her girls....

sk and mimi...

sk and "little mimi"......

haysie and little friend, riley.  hayes became a full-time crawler on tuesday.

hayes and ames....

class photo...

sk and alden...

haysie and sweet caroline...
hayes was like the class pet - everyone kept going over to her and petting her like she was a dog or something...too funny!

sk and caroline.  you know, it's really hard to take pics of 3 year olds.  or mine anyway...she won't look at the camera and her smile is goofy.  i'm sure she'd like to throw my camera in the trash.

praying well all stay well and can enjoy easter and spring break!

"is easter all about the egg hunts?  no, that's not what easter is all about! is it all about the easter bunny? no, that's not what easter is all about! easter is all about Jesus!!" -sarah kate lucy

video and weekend wrap up.

the other day while i was in the kitchen feeding hayes, sarah kate said the pledge of allegiance.  the whole thing.  i had no idea that she knew the pledge of allegiance!  but i'm sure they say it at school - i just haven't ever thought about it and she has never mentioned it.  i got my phone and asked her to say it for a video.  of course that went over real well! (catch the sarcasm).  but anyway, the video is really something!  not because she says the pledge - you can hardly hear her say it once i finally use my mama powers (threatening) to get her to say it.  and i don't even think she says it all correctly.  it's the hand on the hip move she does that is really something- what a girly, sassy mess!
she also appears to be spaced out during most of it.  i would say she had probably been at school and was tired, which may totally have been the case (i don't remember when i took this video) but truthfully, she gets that from me.  we zone out alot.  oops.

hayes has crawled a little more.  she can actually lay on her tummy and drag her body completely across the room just by using her arms.  she does this more than anything!  but then she'll get up and rock and do all of that good stuff before crawling a little ways to get to her toy of choice.

i took a few pics of the drooly girl today after church.

with sis...

look hayes-o, we can crawl too!

and we also like to just lay down and chat...
sk is proud of hayes.  she says, "hayes is crawling all by herself!  she can do it all by herself, good job haysie!"
sk also reads books to hayes, asks her questions about the book, answers the questions for her and then praises her for a job well done.  for example, "haysie, i'm going to read you a book about bugs.  do you see the bugs?  what kind of bug is this hayes?  a caterpillar.  right!  it's a caterpillar, good job hayes!" cracks me up!

we made it downtown yesterday for water mission international's walk for water.  it started at 9 and was over before the rain came.
the girls did great and enjoyed the stroll!

on the battery

crossing the "finish line." (i look thrilled.)

this little lady was all smiles!

of course the pig was there!  sk was so excited=)

we've got a busy week ahead!  sure wish the weather was going to be warmer!
