hayes will be 2 on the 29th! can't believe it. she's my independent "i do it, mama" girl so she seems 2 already and she says "two" when asked how old she is so i guess it was appropriate for us to have her little party a few weeks early! we had her party on sunday the 8th. sk's party is on her actual birthday (july 6th) so i wanted to spread them out a little.
so, it has hardly rained at all at our house so far this "summer." but when did it decide to rain? right. hayes's bday party. thank goodness for a gigantic garage! it was a light rain without lightning or anything dangerous so most all of the kids played outside regardless. they thought it was fun and eventually it did stop altogether.
anyway, hayes was celebrated! trey put 3 boston butts on the egg the day before the party and cooked them all night so that we could enjoy a delicious bbq dinner. we had 6 sweet families come over, aunt lauren came, and then my parents and jonathan's family were able to make it, too. everyone had a blast! we'll celebrate with hayes's yaya and dougie this coming weekend which is her birthday weekend.
