our insta-life and whatnot.

i just downloaded some pics off of my iPhone from the past week or so - alot are fancied up on instagram hence the blog title.  quick post of pics!  i'm tired - i organized our playroom until 1am last night, was up at 2:30 helping my shivering little sickie sarah kate get comfy, up at 5:30 giving her some ibuprofen and then awake at 7:45 for the day.  and hayes was home with us of course and just wow....homegirl does not stop moving.  ever.  just looking at her makes me tired.
poor sk - she felt so bad tonight so we'll head to the dr tomorrow just to make sure it's not anything that we need meds for.

anyway, so our playroom is both a blessing and a curse.  it's worth it's weight in gold and yet it's the bane of my existence.  last night, trey and i got started on organizing, sorting, purging, cleaning and so forth.  now it's mostly finished.  i have showed sk where every little thing should be placed after it is played with or used or whatnot.  we have baskets where things were just randomly thrown and now every basket is holding something specific - categorized!  we'll see how long this lasts.

before.....

after....
i needed to post these pics so i can look back for inspiration when it gets bad again!

gearing up to gobble till we wobble

trey and i went to see the avett brothers last thurs

we had the best time with family in folkston last weekend!  the cousins just had a blast!

mimi is always ready to help sk make a craft...gobble gobble

she thought we could hold onto that winning score....darn it auburn.  poor baby;)

dinner at one of our favorite places, tree lighting at the town center and a little kellie pickler  live.....nice little saturday night with the kriners

hayes (during a brief moment of being still) and jon-jon followed every second of the game and talked it over post-dinner.

just riding!

hayes - just cleaning off my desk (and not in a helpful way).

matchy sisters.  the most fun little people on the planet!

flashbacks to sk's toddlerhood.....hayes was the bag lady all day today.

thankful thursday.

it's turkey time and the month to express thanks.  like most people, i'm thankful for a ton of different things.  this will come as a shock i'm sure (wink wink) but i'm extremely thankful for the people in this photo!  i'm also thankful for my fur baby back there- woof woof big buddy.

these 2 are becoming little playmates....i'm thankful for that!  i'm thankful for sk's patience and how caring she is.  and i'm thankful for hayes's spunky and goofy little personality.  i'm thankful that she's rough and that while she stands at the end of the slide she is willing to let big sis slide right into her!  thankful that getting knocked down and rolling around on the ground all tangled up in sister is fun to her!  i'm thankful that she wants to see "sissy!!!" as soon as she wakes up.  my girls are 2 different people with completely different personalities and God knew what he was doing when He gave them to each other and when He gave them to us in the order in which He did.

there are a gracious plenty of wonderful moments that override the plenty of difficult moments.  and for that i'm thankful!  which i'm actually thankful for the difficult moments, too.

i have alot to do while these 2 spend the morning at school. i have some sk conversations that i have got to document before they escape my memory!  i hope i can get that post done soon....that girl is a trip!  and as for hayes, she has the same exact teachers that sk had when sk was in the 12-18 month class at her school.  well, when i picked hayes up on tuesday mrs. audrey said to me, "you know, that one ain't nothing like your other one."  hahahaha....too too funny!  and all i could think was, "no she ain't."  hurricane hayes....not sure what to do with that one!

i'm on a roll! hoot, hoot!

2 days in a row with a lucy family post!!

just a pic or 2 (or 10) of my little hoot owls....

and later that day we went to the farmer's market.....

hayes got to run and run and eat and run....heaven for her!

big girl rode a pony

and jumped and jumped!

hayes eats standing up when we picnic.  whose got time to sit down when you can run around in between bites??

when sk saw this picture she said, "i am looking mighty fly."  so, we talk in slang to sk from time to time, mainly to get her to chill out and enjoy life.  jons-jons started saying "oh snap" to her when she was very young.  and when she gets worked up or worried about something we tell her, "it ain't no thing but a chicken wing."  she says it all SO proper which makes it even more funny.  sometimes she just needs to relax and enjoy being a kid and what's more laid back and fun than saying, "oh snap it ain't no thing but a chicken wing because sister is looking mighty fly!"  it works.  oh, and sometimes at the end of "it ain't no thing but a chicken wing" she'll throw out a "EAST POINT!!"  heeheehee.  love that girl!

that's it.  happy saturday!  hoot hoot!!

life through the iPhone.

i just downloaded my most recent pics/videos from my iPhone onto my computer so i thought i'd post some things on here.

last sunday sarah kate sang in church with the angel notes choir.  they just opened the service with zacchaeus.  my mom was upset that they missed her first church singing experience so they drove up to see her sing.  that's some dedication right there.  the service starts at 9:45 and they live 4 hours away!  and it was ga/fla weekend!  but in the words of my mom, "we'll get on the road long before the drunks even wake up." touché, mimi, touché.  (and along those lines....go DAWGS - barely - but still.)

below is the best pic i could get of my parents with the girls - oh and papa wasn't actually in it.  we went to red drum for brunch after church.  then we went home and played.

and below are some pics from the week....
hayes is obsessed with the "beep beep" which incidentally is also what she calls her belly button.  she can only "drive" in reverse.

my girls before school on tuesday.  they are sweet sisters!

while sk was at school on wednesday hayes went through some cabinets and found sk's old elmo slippers!  she doesn't care a thing about watching that sweet red monster on t.v. but she certainly recognizes him and loves those slippers!! she calls him "elmo" (sk called him "melmo" for the longest time.)  i should note too that hayes is pointing to her diaper in this pic and telling me "poo poo."  sk never ever ever told me when she went "poo poo." she couldn't have cared less what was going on in her diaper!

on thursday we were stuck inside with sickie sarah kate who entertained herself by putting sister in a tutu!

today sk is pretty much over the virus thankfully.  it's cold outside today and hayes was SO excited to get out the cold weather gear!  she loves it.  weird.

luckily i made a huge batch of potato soup yesterday.  perfect for the weather change!

our day is never complete without going on a wagon ride (or maybe 5 but who is counting).  then we played out in the yard for a while.  so glad sk is feeling good again.  maybe she's feeling a little too good...both girls went to bed around 7 but at 8:00 we could still hear sk through the monitor reading to dumbo.  guess a popsicle for dinner doesn't go hand in hand with an early bedtime.

and one more of my matchy girls...

love those little people!!!

trick or treat smell my feet (halloween 2013)

this is what is going on in the lucy house today....

so thankful that the tummy virus attacked sk this thursday instead of last thursday!!  missing halloween would have been very upsetting to my little spooky lady.  she loves everything about halloween - the dressing up, the parties, the pumpkins & other decorations, the trick or treating, the ghosts & goblins & all the spooky stuff....she loves it all.  praying for a speedy recovery from this tummy bug.

but as for halloween, it started with her little school parade.  it was sk's turn to be the class leader on halloween!  what a lucky lady!  and i have to say, she led the class in style with her hand on her cowgirl hip and a little pep in her step as she waved to the crowd.  i'm sure people totally think we rehearse with her or something but we don't.  i guess she has seen enough parades in her little lifetime (thank you disney world for the 100 parades a day) to know how it's done.

after the parade, her class sat on the stairs for a photo op and they also sang some of their little halloween songs for the parents....

for the past 3 years we have gone to a neighborhood party and then trick or treated around our neighborhood.  as in the past, our friends - the murrell family - joined us!
