i documented hayes's first egg hunt on this blog twice. must be a sign of my tiredness or maybe i'm loosing it. who knows. anyway, double the cuteness.
we had a great easter here in mount pleasant with our little family of 4. we went to church and to lunch. thankfully we took pictures on palm sunday by our azalea bushes because on the friday night before easter a really hard rain and fierce wind really destroyed the flowers. and neither of our kids were all about taking pictures on Easter and to be honest…i didn't even care. i have pics of them in their easter dresses from school picture day. and i have palm sunday pics in their cross dresses. so easter was just a stress free family day where we just celebrated our risen savior.
we have completed the first phase of our kitchen renovations. we're not doing any kind of demolition. we are just giving it a face lift. i've wanted to paint our oak cabinets white since we bought this house 6 years ago. and we finally did it! that is step one. our painter comes either thursday or friday to paint the walls.
kitchen cabinets before….
and after….
it really lightened it up and now i really love our countertops! they didn't go with the oak. anyway, thought i'd document the progress. when sk saw it she put her hands over her mouth and said, "oh my goodness, this is not even my kitchen!"
we went down to folkston last week during sk and h's spring break while the painting was going on in our kitchen.
we did a little of this…
 |
| well, not "we"! the pool may be heated but it's still too cold for me because of the outside temp. but sk had a blast. |
and a little of that….

took the girls to the okefenokee for dinner one night. i can't even count how many dinners i had at that place during my high school years - between this practice and that. one of those places where i always knew about 99% of the people in there.

dana from bella blue photography took easter pictures in town on that monday so we decided to go and have pics taken with some cute baby chicks. the girls were enamored! and they both did really well holding the chicks. hayes wanted to hold it by the neck or tail when she was chasing after it but once she was seated and had the chick placed in her lap she was much more gentle!
 |
| hayes kept making that face while saying "oooooooo!!!" |
 |
| sweet sweet girls. both of them! |
one day it rained all day so we went to jacksonville to the mall and visited the disney store, ate at moe's, and rode the train.
 |
| my 3 babies…ha! but seriously. dumbo is my son - his birthday is july 7th (the day after sk's). he'll be 4. he likes peanuts more than anything. his trunk gives great tickles that can heal any boo-boo or sickness. sometimes he sticks his trunk under our noses and says, "MUSTACHE" in a really funny way. he has a VERY interesting accent that i can't even describe. he likes to "rock out." his favorite colors are gray, red and yellow (duh.) when it's his turn to tell God what he is thankful for he says peanuts. every time. soooo……ha! her imagination. i do find myself telling him good night before "he" even says it. i sometimes call him mr. blue eyes. we are enablers…..for 2 years and counting. |
backtracking a little…..the first day of their spring break was friday, april 11th. in true lucy girls fashion we went to the beach.
 |
| hayes loves the beach as much as sk. she loves the tidal pool even more! and she thinks she can swim. she loves loves loves the water. yesterday during breakfast she said, "beach mama, beach!" so i said, "do you want to go to the beach?" and she replied, "i do!" ha! sk junior answering me like that! |
 |
| picnic=) |
and later that evening we took the girls to the strawberry festival at boone hall farms…(fair basically)..
 |
| can you just see the germs!!! i couldn't get them in the tub (for the second time that day) fast enough!! |
oh and one more thing we discovered while in folkston….we may have a future ga tech yellow jacket on our hands! nerd. lego fanatic. and she can build!!
that's all the catching up i can do for now! in the words of hayes, "i tired!"
