lately. (in pictures)

memorial day - riding to deweese island

someone found the bag of lays…..even the tiniest consumer can't eat just one.
isn't this what most kids look like on the beach??  no?

waiting to cut the watermelon

enjoying LOTS of watermelon

appeasing their mama!  these 2 despise picture taking.

haysie loves her sissy!
sk had not been dressing up much - in fact, it had been months!  but hayes has started wanting to which completely rekindled sk's love of dressing up.  now it's a daily activity.
tutu sisters heading to enjoy the sunset and dinner on the boat
in their boat spot.  these 2 are such good boat girls!  we have been so pleased with hayes - she didn't want to test out her new jacket around the house but as it turns out she doesn't mind wearing it a bit on the boat.
sweet big girl

leaving the children's museum on friday.  picture taking wasn't really part of their plans!

sunday afternoon nap

my mermaid at play while sissy naps
a glimpse into our future=)

we are still working on our kitchen facelift.  i had a new farm table made for our little breakfast nook and we love it!  our window seat cushions are being made.  and i'm going to paint our chairs.

where we can usually be found during the week=)

can't believe that little lady will be 2 in 27 days and that the big girl will be 5 a week after!  thankful for them both.

WAY behind. (playing catch up)

recital is over.  school is finished for both girls.  sk graduated from pre-k.  trey's back from his vegas conference.  summer can begin - except that i caught the ugly tummy bug that still has me without energy.  summer fun is coming!

catch up time….

sk graduated from pre-k on thurs, may 15th at a parent appreciation luncheon.  it was so fun and sweet and special!  trey was in class that whole week so we were SO excited that he was able to sneak out and be a part.  she had made me a wonderful heart necklace and trey a fancy paper bow tie. ;)  they sang several songs, received their diplomas and we ate lunch together.

singing "skinny ma rink a dink a dink"

"i love you!" and she pointed at us….she was so cute and excited.  she did a great job.

daddy's girl!

love her=)

sk with her assistant teacher, ms. morris, on the left and her lead teacher, ms. smith, on the right. sk had ms. smith in the 2's as well so we were blessed twice with an excellent teacher.
getting her diploma

sk was a beautiful tiny dancer at her recital last weekend.  she was excited to have all her grandparents in town for it and she did great!

and lastly (for now)….

sk's end of year party was tuesday - her class met at waterfront park and played and had a picnic…
sk and her sweet friend, ethan.  they are super heroes and fight the "baddies" together on the playground with their special powers.

when she's not fighting the bad guys she is swinging and singing!!  her favorite thing to do and boy can she go high!

the cupcakes were yum!

sk and her friend, "little mimi."  mimi and sk have been in the same class since they were one.

sk was thrilled that we were taking 2 of her friends, caroline & sophia, back to the school with us.  she was also super excited to sit in the WAY back even if she had to sit in the "baby seat."  (the other 2 had a battle over the booster…ha!)

sk and alden.  they also have been in class together since they were one.  sk is going to miss all her "old" friends next year as they all go off to the many wonderful elementary schools that mt. pleasant offers.  her buddy calvert is going to her school and she's hoping that he's in her class.

hayes was at the school during sk's end of year party having her last day of 1k which i'll document later.  i also have pics from sk's last day as well - they had a pj and movie day at school the day after their park party!  it was a busy 2-3 weeks that's for sure.  glad to be on summer time….ya know, once i get my energy back.

summer is coming!

i'm working on a sk & hayes update for their busy month of may!  wednesday is the last day of school so i will plan to catch up when i come up for air!  we. are. swamped.  and i cannot wait for summer.

until then, here are some pics!

they're still precious=)

this sweet sweet big girl graduated from pre-k today!  post to come!

they are meant for each other.
hayes is wearing one of sk's old dresses and sk is wearing one of ava/bryce's old dresses. we have so many things like this because mimi often matches the twins to sk and then it all gets reused.  and i think it's special and fun!

my funny mother's day photo.  typical!  hayes was too busy to take a picture with her mama!

but she did pick a flower for me (or for herself…whatever…she's cute!)

bringing out the summer threads!  we're ready!

growing up WAY tooooo fast!  she is very 'big' in personality and she is independent BUT at the end of the day she loves to "nuggle" and "rock" and "get cozy" with whoever is putting her to bed.  sometimes she likes to do those things in the middle of the night!  and that's okay.  i'm not saying sleep is overrated because it isn't.  it's awesome.  but a midnight "nuggle" every couple of weeks is fine by me.

closing in on two!

the crazy haysie maysie baby is 22 months old today!

i will elaborate another time.  i am tired.  she may be the reason why i'm always tired.  but she is 22 months old and is beyond adorable.  she is also completely ticked off at the teeth she has busting through.  i'm a little angry at those mean guys as well, but this too shall pass.

hayes.  a whole bunch of feisty awesomeness squeezed in that little 22 month old body.

this & that. catching up continues.

i documented hayes's first egg hunt on this blog twice.  must be a sign of my tiredness or maybe i'm loosing it.  who knows.  anyway, double the cuteness.

we had a great easter here in mount pleasant with our little family of 4.  we went to church and to lunch.  thankfully we took pictures on palm sunday by our azalea bushes because on the friday night before easter a really hard rain and fierce wind really destroyed the flowers.  and neither of our kids were all about taking pictures on Easter and to be honest…i didn't even care.  i have pics of them in their easter dresses from school picture day.  and i have palm sunday pics in their cross dresses.  so easter was just a stress free family day where we just celebrated our risen savior.

we have completed the first phase of our kitchen renovations.  we're not doing any kind of demolition.  we are just giving it a face lift.  i've wanted to paint our oak cabinets white since we bought this house 6 years ago.  and we finally did it!  that is step one.  our painter comes either thursday or friday to paint the walls.

kitchen cabinets before….

and after….

it really lightened it up and now i really love our countertops!  they didn't go with the oak.  anyway, thought i'd document the progress.  when sk saw it she put her hands over her mouth and said, "oh my goodness, this is not even my kitchen!"

we went down to folkston last week during sk and h's spring break while the painting was going on in our kitchen.

we did a little of this…
well, not "we"!  the pool may be heated but it's still too cold for me because of the outside temp.  but sk had a blast.
and a little of that….
took the girls to the okefenokee for dinner one night.  i can't even count how many dinners i had at that place during my high school years - between this practice and that.  one of those places where i always knew about 99% of the people in there.

dana from bella blue photography took easter pictures in town on that monday so we decided to go and have pics taken with some cute baby chicks.  the girls were enamored!  and they both did really well holding the chicks.  hayes wanted to hold it by the neck or tail when she was chasing after it but once she was seated and had the chick placed in her lap she was much more gentle!

hayes kept making that face while saying "oooooooo!!!"

sweet sweet girls.  both of them!
one day it rained all day so we went to jacksonville to the mall and visited the disney store, ate at moe's, and rode the train.

my 3 babies…ha!  but seriously.  dumbo is my son - his birthday is july 7th (the day after sk's).  he'll be 4.  he likes peanuts more than anything.  his trunk gives great tickles that can heal any boo-boo or sickness.  sometimes he sticks his trunk under our noses and says, "MUSTACHE" in a really funny way.  he has a VERY interesting accent that i can't even describe.  he likes to "rock out."  his favorite colors are gray, red and yellow (duh.)  when it's his turn to tell God what he is thankful for he says peanuts.  every time.  soooo……ha!  her imagination.  i do find myself telling him good night before "he" even says it.  i sometimes call him mr. blue eyes.  we are enablers…..for 2 years and counting.
backtracking a little…..the first day of their spring break was friday, april 11th.  in true lucy girls fashion we went to the beach.
hayes loves the beach as much as sk.  she loves the tidal pool even more!  and she thinks she can swim.   she loves loves loves the water.  yesterday during breakfast she said, "beach mama, beach!" so i said, "do you want to go to the beach?" and she replied, "i do!"  ha! sk junior answering me like that!

picnic=)

and later that evening we took the girls to the strawberry festival at boone hall farms…(fair basically)..
can you just see the germs!!!  i couldn't get them in the tub (for the second time that day) fast enough!!
oh and one more thing we discovered while in folkston….we may have a future ga tech yellow jacket on our hands!  nerd.  lego fanatic.  and she can build!!

that's all the catching up i can do for now!  in the words of hayes, "i tired!"
