let the summer fun begin!

we are back from our disney trip.  every lucy had the absolute best time - even baby hayes enjoyed herself! =)  i'm working on my disney post.  definitely have to document that magical experience for sarah kate's "baby blog book" which thanks to cousin brooke, i think i'll have her first blog book published before hayes arrives.  thanks for the tips, brookie!!

but for now......to my sweet sararh kate:
today was your last day of 2 year old pre-k!  i can't believe this school year is already over for you - i feel like i was just dropping you off.......
sarah kate on her first day of 2 year old preschool at mppc learning center!
  goodness how you've grown!

you had the best school year!!  you adore your teachers, ms. keller and ms. robin.  you want to go to school every tuesday and thursday mornings and this eagerness only increased throughout the school year.  you love your friends - you've made a few new friends, but alot of your friends from your class last year were in your class this year.

sarah kate on her last day of 2 year preschool.  y'all had a little party today - you received a photobook gift from your teachers.  your mommy received a couple of really sweet gifts from the class and from your teachers for being room mom.  i loved being your room mom and being involved in your little parties and such!
you have learned alot this year!!  most importantly, you've had so much FUN playing and being social with your friends.  you created more art projects than i can count.  you were introduced to so many learning concepts that will be built upon throughout the remainder of your pre-school years.  you learned all of your letters - can identify any of them and know most of their sounds.  you were involved in fun activities like a costume parade, easter egg hunt and lots of holiday parties.  we potty-trained you this year and i know that the peer pressure that came from school didn't hurt!!!  you loved recess and being on the playground.  you loved painting.  you LOVE wearing dresses to school, especially smocked ones because you feel really fancy in your nicer dresses.  you hugged and loved on ms. keller today.  both of your teachers go to our church so even though you will miss your school days, you will still get to see them.  ms. robin keeps the toddler nursery on sunday mornings so you'll definitely see her some.

playing at home after school & lunch at moe's.....

i'm so proud of you, sarah kate!  you are a sweet little student.  you told me today, "i'm a really nice person, mama!"  and that you are.
next year you will be in a 3k classroom and will go mondays, wednesdays and fridays.  you'll go from 9-1 on mon. and wed. and 9-12 on fridays.  i can't wait to see what your next school year holds for you.  i'm so glad that you love your school so much!
now, our summer fun can begin!  lots of fun & exciting things going on for you in june and july!  you are really counting down the days till our kriner family beach vacation - about 11 days to go!  after that you'll have your bounce house birthday party (a few weeks early!), a week of swim lessons, your actual 3rd birthday and then you'll become a big sister!!  happy summer 2012, sarah kate!!

i passed!

i passed the glucose test again!  so now it is official, i do not have gestational diabetes with this pregnancy.  i'm so glad.  i can be found at disney world this weekend eating one of those mickey mouse icecream bars.  =)

someone wanted to go to the pool this overcast morning!!  it was too cold for me, but sk had fun swimming around for a while.

after getting used to the water she kicked her way all the way to the deep end and back to the steps.  i was proud of her!

interesting way to watch t.v.

tea party and story time with snow white

happy birthday, trey!

yesterday was trey's birthday.  i'm so thankful he was born!! this evening we went to the beach to celebrate with a picnic dinner and cupcakes.
sarah kate and i went to "cupcake" to get these yummy treats.  red velvet for the birthday boy - vanilla for the girls.  they let her choose the candle and she was thrilled that purple was an option. "that candle is purple like my toenails!!" (her toenails are painted purple right now.)

birthday love

sarah kate to me: "daddy is 33 now!  are you still 32?"  haha...YES!!

sk after every bite: "can we get in the ocean now?"

i enjoyed my cupcake, too.  i had my 30 week appointment today and was tested again for gestational diabetes.  i passed fine around 16 weeks and i hope i passed today!  i'll know tomorrow.  so i enjoyed my cupcake just in case it's the last sweet treat i can for a while.

sarah kate enjoyed a few bites of icing and then she was done.  bless her heart, she loves to talk about cake, cupcakes and cookies - she wants to love those things so much but she just doesn't.  a bite or 2 is all she can do.  she can kill some icecream though!  that's her favorite sweet treat & she likes popsicles, too.

trey is such a wonderful dad!  we love him so much.  he is so good to his girls!

"mommy, will you go in the tidal pool with me now?"  love her!

it was very windy tonight.  the kite surfers were out in full-force!

happy birthday to the best husband and daddy in the world!  we love you to pieces.

and all the while.......
we unknowingly left the little guy outside!!  we've never done that before.  when we pulled up he was laying right here in this spot on the front porch.....just waiting.  cutest little thing.  he probably enjoyed the breeze and extra bird watching!

our life is about to get busy for the next month or so.  we have alot going on before hayes arrives.  first up - we are taking sarah kate for a surprise trip to disney this weekend.  probably not what every woman who is 31 weeks pregnant is dying to do, but all the joy sk will get out of it will be worth it.

mother's day weekend.

sunday:
i'm so glad that i get to be sarah kate and hayes's mama.  i'm a lucky girl!  i'm humbled because i feel undeserving of such sweet blessings!  i'm not perfect, but i hope at the end of the day that i'm doing this job to the very best of my ability.  i'm also really blessed to have the mom that i have and i don't know what i'd do without her.  today was the first mother's day that my mom and i have spent together in a long time!  can't really remember the last mother's day that we were together but today was the first one since sk has been in our lives.  so it was nice celebrating being a mama with my mama=)

my parents just came up for the day.  they met us for church and then we went downtown for lunch/brunch.  sarah kate was all tired and hungry and just misbehaving - happy mother's day to me.  it's amazing what a little lunch can do......bacon and eggs = improved mood for the toddler!

plus, "airplane" makes her giggle every time....

another thing that makes her giggle....
papa!
i sure do love my little family.....

including my furry kids!  beau has been doing some serious bird watching lately.  he's so handsome - little mama's boy!

and baby hayes made her presence known throughout the day - she really enjoyed the men's choir in church today=)

this little curly girly made me a mom....

thanks for coming to see us today, mimi & papa!  we love you!

saturday:
trey got up at some hour that i haven't seen in a long time.  i used to see 6 am when i was working.  saw it again during sarah kate's first 8 weeks of life.  about to see it again when hayes arrives.  but for now, i just don't care to see it especially on a saturday.  he went fishing.....
success!
i won't go out on the boat while i'm pregnant so guess where sarah kate and i went (at the very decent hour of 11a.m.)......
shocking, i know.  trey met us out there when he got in from fishing.  sk had a great time and made 2 friends who she played with the whole time.  they had fun swimming in the tidal pool and digging in the sand.

friday:
after playing at the park with her friend foard and taking a nice long nap, sarah kate decided it was time to visit the pool.  so trey & i took her to our neighborhood pool to play with her little friends greer and allie.  it was her first time back in the pool since last year - she was timid for a few minutes but was off and swimming in no time.  she wears her puddle jumper to help her swim but she'd like to know how to swim without it.  she's taking private lessons for a week in june which i think will really be good for her especially since she wants to do it!  jon-jon and trey will work with her too during our family beach trip in a few weeks.  jonathan said he'll just throw her in the water and tell her to swim.  we'll see how that goes.  wonder how that sink or swim method is going to work out not only for sk but for jon-jon's status as sk's favorite.  again tonight he was the only person she wanted to pray for so.....we'll just see. ;)
heading to the pool=)
it was a nice weekend!  trey brought me breakfast in bed this morning which is always nice.  he and sarah kate gave me sweet cards which included an hour prenatal massage at mom spa along with a mani/pedi.  nice!  he had sarah kate record a message in one of those recordable hallmark cards...her sweet little voice said, "happy mother's day, mommy!"

we hope that sk's lala had a wonderful mother's day, too!  trey is a lucky son to have such a loving mama and we love & appreciate her very much.

& just because these were too sweet not to put on the blog...

a nose kiss

30 weeks!

i'm 30 weeks pregnant today!  only 10 more weeks to go.  these next 10 weeks need to go by a little slower than the last 10 weeks have.  we can't wait to meet baby hayes but we still have some things to do before she arrives;)
30 weeks

and a close-up of the bump courtesy of trey...
i carry so high!

hayes has been SO active today.  in fact, she's been a little more active during the days lately and less active at night.  i guess that's a good thing!  as a whole she has become much more active than her sister ever was.  sarah kate was such a lazy fetus=)  and she continues to be overly cautious - never been a climber or an "into everything" type.  in fact, my sweet friend jennifer had to rescue her from a really tall tube slide today at the park because she got up there and was terrified.  so hayes may be our busy, 'keep me on my toes' girl!  either way, i appreciate all the movements.  it's reassuring.

our book says that she weighs about 3 pounds and is about 17 inches long.  we'll learn her actual measurements soon since we get to see her again in a couple of weeks via ultrasound.

yesterday morning sarah kate's class had "muffins with mom."  so i went to class with her for a little while, we shared a muffin and i received a sweet mother's day gift from my girl.  i didn't take any pics with her, but i tried to snap a couple of her and a few of her girlfriends who were playing dress up right before i left.  i could only get sk and her friend mimi in the pics and they weren't even really into taking a pic at that so i gave up after these.....

sarah kate and mimi.

this morning sk and i went to the shrimp and grits spring sample sale so that i could pick up a couple of matching things for the girls;)  i wanted to get sk a dress and hayes the matching bubble for next summer.  they have so many cute designs and i couldn't really decide so i let sarah kate pick out the dress she wanted and then i found the matching bubble for hayes.  she went with the green seersucker with pink octopus dress.  she picked out a new pair of hot pink sandals as well.  she got a new pink hairbow for free because i "checked in" on facebook at the sample sale.  i sent this pic to ashley today and got so tickled because i didn't realize when i took it that my baby bump was making an appearance!  made me laugh.

i also got the girls matching bathing suits for next summer.

fun stuff!  we're getting excited and can't believe we only have a couple of months left to go!
