mother's day weekend.

sunday:
i'm so glad that i get to be sarah kate and hayes's mama.  i'm a lucky girl!  i'm humbled because i feel undeserving of such sweet blessings!  i'm not perfect, but i hope at the end of the day that i'm doing this job to the very best of my ability.  i'm also really blessed to have the mom that i have and i don't know what i'd do without her.  today was the first mother's day that my mom and i have spent together in a long time!  can't really remember the last mother's day that we were together but today was the first one since sk has been in our lives.  so it was nice celebrating being a mama with my mama=)

my parents just came up for the day.  they met us for church and then we went downtown for lunch/brunch.  sarah kate was all tired and hungry and just misbehaving - happy mother's day to me.  it's amazing what a little lunch can do......bacon and eggs = improved mood for the toddler!

plus, "airplane" makes her giggle every time....

another thing that makes her giggle....
papa!
i sure do love my little family.....

including my furry kids!  beau has been doing some serious bird watching lately.  he's so handsome - little mama's boy!

and baby hayes made her presence known throughout the day - she really enjoyed the men's choir in church today=)

this little curly girly made me a mom....

thanks for coming to see us today, mimi & papa!  we love you!

saturday:
trey got up at some hour that i haven't seen in a long time.  i used to see 6 am when i was working.  saw it again during sarah kate's first 8 weeks of life.  about to see it again when hayes arrives.  but for now, i just don't care to see it especially on a saturday.  he went fishing.....
success!
i won't go out on the boat while i'm pregnant so guess where sarah kate and i went (at the very decent hour of 11a.m.)......
shocking, i know.  trey met us out there when he got in from fishing.  sk had a great time and made 2 friends who she played with the whole time.  they had fun swimming in the tidal pool and digging in the sand.

friday:
after playing at the park with her friend foard and taking a nice long nap, sarah kate decided it was time to visit the pool.  so trey & i took her to our neighborhood pool to play with her little friends greer and allie.  it was her first time back in the pool since last year - she was timid for a few minutes but was off and swimming in no time.  she wears her puddle jumper to help her swim but she'd like to know how to swim without it.  she's taking private lessons for a week in june which i think will really be good for her especially since she wants to do it!  jon-jon and trey will work with her too during our family beach trip in a few weeks.  jonathan said he'll just throw her in the water and tell her to swim.  we'll see how that goes.  wonder how that sink or swim method is going to work out not only for sk but for jon-jon's status as sk's favorite.  again tonight he was the only person she wanted to pray for so.....we'll just see. ;)
heading to the pool=)
it was a nice weekend!  trey brought me breakfast in bed this morning which is always nice.  he and sarah kate gave me sweet cards which included an hour prenatal massage at mom spa along with a mani/pedi.  nice!  he had sarah kate record a message in one of those recordable hallmark cards...her sweet little voice said, "happy mother's day, mommy!"

we hope that sk's lala had a wonderful mother's day, too!  trey is a lucky son to have such a loving mama and we love & appreciate her very much.

& just because these were too sweet not to put on the blog...

a nose kiss
