i have been eying children's art cables for a while, wanting to display some of sk's art that she brings home. i wanted something like THIS ONE at potterybarnkids. the problem is that i felt like paying $40 (not including tax and shipping) seemed a little absurd for something that i thought i might could make myself. so after a shopping trip to michaels where i spent around $12 total for the supplies, i ended up with sk's personalized art cable. and yes, it's right there in our living room. she already has her own corner....she may as well have a whole wall.
the lighting on this pic is not good. the 's' and 'k' do not look lost on our light walls in real life.
and remember this art project of mine.....
after several coats of paint it looked great and we enjoyed it for a while as our "new" coffee table. and then i realized that the paint was not going to stay on the table since it was an el-cheapo-not-made-of-real-wood type of table. it looked terrible after a few weeks. so yesterday we went shopping and came home with a piece that i am LOVING!!
