today i took the girls in for their yearly check ups. thank goodness trey was able to meet me there because things got a little hairy. turns out - shots are scary! and i didn't get one single pic of their misery darn it! sk and hayes both got pricked for an iron test. things went downhill from there. sk received 4 shots and i think h received 2 (trey was with her while i was with sk). oh the drama. but both girls survived and were both healthy girls who are developing nicely so that's the really really good part!
stats for baby book purposes:
hayes' 12 month appointment.....
hayes is 19 pounds and 9 ounces (25th% - has dropped a little on the charts). and she is 29inches tall (50th% - has raised a little on the charts). her percentages for height and weight actually just completely reversed from her appointments in the past. not that any of that matters - as long as she is on the charts and is "thriving" then we're good. so....we're good!
sk's 4 year appointment.....
sarah kate is 34 pounds (40th%). she has gained 5 pounds since her last appointment which was exactly one year ago. she is 3'3.25". she has grown a little over 2" since her 3 year appointment.
yobe fixes everything.....
and hayes was perfectly fine once we were safe and sound in her familiar little home. she cooked up a storm tonight....
another thing she did tonight that is certainly blog-worthy......she WALKED! yep. she did! she's not "walking" yet but she walked from the middle of the kitchen over to me - about 3 or 4 steps. later in the playroom she did the same thing from the middle of the room over to the coffee table. and aside from that she just kept standing up in the middle of the room, catching her balance and just smiling so huge (big ole smile right through that paci that she's all obsessed with now)! so sweet.
another thing she does that's blog worthy - we say, "how big is hayesie?" and she throws her arms up in the air! "SO BIG!" we shout and she just loves that. she's funny=)
i had an appointment yesterday, too. i've been sick with a cough and a fever. i don't have the flu. he says it's viral. wish i could take something more than ibuprofen! anyway, i really haven't felt well since sunday so trey has been doing alot of extra work when he gets home so that i can lay around. and sunday he got hayes ready for nap and put her down. this picture below is a sure sign that daddy's in charge....
wooohoooo! vegas, baby! he brought her back this lovely onesie when he went out to his conference in may. guess he thought it had been under-worn. or maybe never worn. ??
let's be real here. this is probably a person who should never ever go to vegas. a bull in the china shop type of baby needs to avoid certain areas of the world. unless she goes with sk. sk will not let her do anything remotely dangerous.
and mr. really handsome had a check up yesterday....
he's doing okay. his meds needed some adjusting but overall he was good. his heart is still enlarged. his diuretic meds needed to be increased due to fluid on the lungs. this increased diuretic med intake can cause liver damage so they'll be keeping an eye on that. right now, his liver looks good. what a mess! basically, for the rest of beau's life we'll be at the vet a lot! adjusting meds and checking blood levels and what-not. one thing that has NOT changed about beau is his appetite. the dog has big problems in that area. he is hungry 24/7. hayes is his new best friend. she's in the throwing-food-off-the-highchair phase.
she does it and then says, "no, no!"
i took the girls to the aquarium last week. sk took dumbo for the first time and enjoyed showing him all the fish.
oops...hayes's eyes are closed. i assure you that she was not asleep.
sk is always so funny about this frog. "is he real? is he real? but i want him to be real. is he real?"
so that's it! i have 3 days to get well. kriner family beach vacay 2013 starts saturday. praying so hard that my girls do NOT get sick and can enjoy the week!
