our 22 month old=)
here are some things that you've been up to lately:
*you went for an ear check with your ped. a week ago. after you were so sick down in folkston, your dr. wanted to see you to make sure your ears had cleared. they looked great! you weighed 25 pounds even. they didn't measure you, but you've hovered around the 80th% for a long time now and i am guessing you are still in that range.
*you talk all.the.time. some new(ish) things you've been saying, "tickles!" you like to say that when something (like one of the animal's tails) brushes up against you. or if daddy or i tickle you. you said your first complete (more than 2 word) sentence while down at mimi/papa's house over your spring break. mimi and i were up in the middle of the night with you while you were sick and we were watching the cow video. you went over to the bean bag and said, "I sit here." you say, "see bulls" alot. you want to go for a "ride, ride daddy's car" every single day. your dad and i call you our little parrot because you repeat every thing you hear. you say "mama" about a million times a day....that's not an exaggeration and 99% of the time you don't want/need anything....you just like saying mama alot. some funny things you say..."oh dear", "oh my", "oh geez" "mama right here!! (when you want me to wait on you while going up the stairs to your room)", you giggle and say "burpies" after you burp.....
*you eagerly go into your classroom on tuesdays and thursdays. you always get good reports from your teachers....hope that doesn't change! when i pick you up you smile when you see me and sometimes you want to stay and play! this is a huge change....you used to cry when you saw me and couldn't get to me fast enough!
*you love music and you LOVE to dance. you like to dance like a ballerina and you often say, "ava, bryce dance" before you do. you learned your ballerina moves from watching their recital. you love nursery rhymes & songs and acting them out. some songs you love to act out...."itsy bitsy spider", "deep and wide", "ring around the rosies", "the wheels on the bus"....
*you can count to 13 and you've gone a little further a few times. you love to count! no matter which entrance we use to get inside our house, we have to climb 16 stairs. then once inside, we have to climb 16 stairs to get from the downstairs to the upstairs. sooo.....that's probably why you like to count so much! we're always climbing and counting stairs around here! plus, your buddies elmo, mickey, oso bear and the never land pirates have you counting quite a bit;)
*you do NOT like having your diaper changed. especially if you've gone #2. i am now counting down the days until you are ready to be potty trained because it is SUCH a struggle trying to get you changed. maybe it's just a phase....i hope so because you definitely aren't ready for potty training.
*we have been being a little more faithful about making it to our play group on monday mornings. you are really enjoying it (and i do too!). this will be our saving grace this summer....you are going to miss your school friends!
*you are still game for our late afternoon strolls. lately, we've let you take bubbles with us so that you can blow bubbles while we walk. you ask to get "off" quite a bit but for now we're able to distract you. i'm not ready for you to give up our walks, okay! =)
*you still take one nap a day. usually from 2 or 2:30 until 5 or 5:30. sometimes you aren't able to fall asleep at nap time so you just stay in your crib and have some SK time for about an hour.

we are so lucky to live in the same town as the fabulous shrimp & grits kids clothing line's warehouse because it means we get to go to their sample sales. today was their spring/summer sale so we went before gymnastics.....i bought a few things but you weren't all that into shopping today so your dad relieved me at gym and let me run back for a few more things. anyway, when we got home i wanted you to try on your new stuff to make sure it fit.....and you were all about that! so here are some pics of you modeling a couple of your new additions to your summer wardrobe. and mimi had to send me a few things in the mail this week so she threw in a new flower bow and a really cute and comfy little ballerina looking skirted bubble. it's real sweet, soft and girly.....so we tried that on too=)
how cute is this crab bathing suit=) ummm.....no, we will not be wearing our hot pink bow and hot pink crocs while we rock this suit. i've had my eye on this for a while and was glad that they had it in her size!
this is the last summer that sarah kate will be able to wear bubbles so i just had to pick one up....they have SO many cute ones therefore i had a hard time deciding but ultimately i went with the whales......
this little top and ruffle bloomers are so so cute! the front has bees and flowers smocked across the front. but it hung a little too loose so i've got to run it up to my alteration lady and get her to move the buttons for me. easy fix and then i'll get her to move them back next year and i bet sk will be able to wear this next spring/summer too.
