lately....

well, i was over the tummy bug in time to go to vegas. thank goodness. i did get sick again while i was out there but it only lasted for about 12 hours instead of 24. i was so glad that i went for 4 nights this time instead of my usual 2......so the tummy bug didn't completely ruin my trip! anyway, we had a great time walking around, going to the pool, catching a cirque show, eating fabulous food, reading our books (i know....that part sounds boring but i am now ready to move on to the 3rd book in the twilight series), etc.

and trey's conference went well. he was supposed to be in meetings on tuesday until 3:30 but he was able to get them done and back to meet me at the pool by 1. we stayed at the bellagio this time and it was so fun and beautiful! i'll post some pics in another post sometime this weekend. i'm still tired from traveling and then driving back from folkston yesterday.

today was gymnastics, then grocery shopping and then this afternoon we had a sitter while trey and i went downtown to the dock street theatre to take in a little spoleto festival chamber music event. we also went out to an awesome little authentic italian place for dinner. it was so fun=) oh, and while we were eating we started talking about the college of charleston for some reason. trey said (oh so seriously) that he thought the college of charleston would be a perfect college for sarah kate to go to because "it is just far enough away from home." hmmm.....really? it's less than 10 minutes from our house. it is home. poor sk....trey's probably going to show up at her dorm unannounced every other day.

and speaking of sarah kate, she thoroughly enjoyed her stay with mimi and papa while we were away. i talked to her on the phone each day and could tell every time that she was on cloud 9 and being spoiled by the minute. her mimi has the energy of a teenager and always has something fun planned for every second of the day......i can't compete with that so i'm sure she's already bored being back home=) the beach is my saving grace....at least we have that. anyway, she had fun playing with her cousins, seeing papa's cows, riding the golf cart, going to "miss" dixie's for icecream, playing with playdough, painting me pictures, coloring, blowing bubbles, playing at the water table, watching her shows, playing dress up, etc. mimi does an excellent job of filling me in on her entire day and never leaves out any details and then sk's aunt ashley sent me picture texts so i could see her. she grew some! not even kidding! and she's talking even more than she was when we left....not kidding about that either. a big huge big gigantic THANKS to mimi and papa for keeping her and making her feel so happy! and poor mimi got the tummy bug one of the days....thanks to aunt ashley and "ava (with a short a) and bice (bryce)" for stepping in and taking care of sk until papa got home. papa really stepped up to the plate and took care of sk so mimi could stay in bed....i appreciate all of them very much......"jon-jon" too....she loves her jon-jon and he was there to help=)
