i passed my glucose test! i do not have gestational diabetes! yet anyway. they'll retest me around 27 weeks. but for now i don't even have to take the 3 hour test. i passed the 1 hour with no problem.
now for the fall. sk fell from the top step of her playset today. after making sure nothing was broken we sat on the grass and i held her until she was able to breathe like a normal person. then we discussed some different things that might make it all better.
me: "would you like to just go ahead and climb again?"
sk: "no i not."
me: "how about the swing? would you want me to swing you for a while?"
sk: "no, i don't want to swing."
me: "want to go draw on the driveway with chalk?"
sk: "no, i not."
hmmmm......thinking...thinking....
me: "would a piece of cake make you feel better?"
sk: "yes! how about a piece of cake, mommy?!!!"
so off to starbucks we went. i got a decaf. beau got a milk bone (they have doggie treats at the drive-thru and it makes beau's day). and sk got a birthday cake pop.
it took her exactly 1 hour to eat that little ball of cake. and when we got home we continued to play outside and she went up her ladder and down her slide several times (even did it holding her cake pop). i was so relieved. i thought she'd be afraid to climb her ladder again for a while.
