sewe, renovations, & a few iphone pics.

it's sewe weekend....southeast wildlife expo....one of our favorite weekends here in charleston. there are several events that people can enjoy but we always go down to marion square on saturday and see, pet and feed the animals, ride the ponies, and chow down on some local food on a picnic blanket. the past 2 years we've gone with the cline family. we had beautiful weather and a great time yesterday!

charlotte on her pony...

sarah kate's turn...

wonder what she's talking about ;)

time to feed the animals!

during lunch mr. scott asked the girls what their favorite animal was. charlotte's was the sheep. sk's was the "llama llama pajama." ;) funny girl. she was so excited to see the llamas since she loves the llama llama book series so much.

the goats - this goat's name was tinkerbelle...

the sheep...

this is "salley" (naturally). i was a little concerned about her, but she eventually lifted her head up;)

charlotte is the sweetest girl. sk ran out of food quite often and charlotte was always very quick to make sure she filled sk's cup up with some of her food that she wasn't throwing out quite as haphazardly as miss sk.
charlotte is exactly one year older. in fact, andrea and i had the same due date with the girls - just a year apart. charlotte has always been very sweet and loving towards sk and we enjoy playing with them alot. charlotte's little brother, jackson, was born in late june so he and our little lucy #2 will be a year apart as well.
what a fun day!

we were all craving icecream after sewe. or sk and i were at least. so we stopped by yobe on our way home and we all enjoyed a cup of frozen yogurt. sk had vanilla with sprinkles. she was very certain about what she wanted before we even arrived. she was very satisfied with her choice. i got vanilla with reese's peanut butter cups on top. baby hayes and i were both very pleased with our choice as well. baby hayes is about to get a rude awakening....lent is almost here and i'm giving up refined sugar since i'm having a hard time with my sweet tooth. trey enjoyed yobe's original tart yogurt with heath bar crumbles on top. i know that nobody cares what kind of yogurt we choose to eat, but just writing about sweet stuff is exciting to me! is it Easter yet???

we really lucked out with our great weather yesterday because today has been so wet and rainy. sk was so excited to wear her rain boots to church! trey helped me teach my class this morning and then we went to church. sk said she had fun in sunday school and in the nursery. after church we went out to sullivan's to meet aunt lauren for brunch at high thyme.

on friday, we went to lowes to get new fixtures for the half bath and some wall paper removal supplies. after living in our house for 4 years, i've finally decided that it's time for us to do something about our heinous half bath. i used to never go in there - it's just a bathroom for our guests - so i guess i never thought about it too much. BUT in the last year i've been going in there every single day because it is where sarah kate washes her hands before every meal and she still needs our help with hand-washing. so i guess i just realized that it was time. trey has been working on it this weekend. we are painting it a blueish-gray color and are changing out all the brass fixtures with oil rubbed bronze fixtures. i've got to choose a mirror, but we got everything else on friday. it is not a hard thing for him to do on his own, it just takes some time. he is almost ready to prime it.
this is the lovely wall paper. notice the rainbow row border. nice. i've never even bothered to change the window treatments in any of the bathrooms. in fact, the trashcans in the bathrooms were left by the previous owners! i guess i'm a slacker!!

yesterday...in progress. pretty sure the back part of our toilet was on our front porch for a little while. it has since been moved to the back porch...

hopefully it will be done sometime in the next week. one more item on our "to do" list that we can cross off.

below are some recent pics that i downloaded from my iphone. happy sunday!

yes, my child still sleeps in a sleep sack. it's a toddler one. we plan on moving her to a big girl bed when the nursery is ready and then we'll try to say goodbye to the sleep sack. i can imagine that breaking her of this will be like breaking a child from sleeping with a paci. she loves it more than anything.

we had a playdate with amy and alden at our aquarium this past week...

minnie mouse having dinner....

heading down to my car and off to school. pluto rode with us (and beau of course).

walking her turtles and strolling her baby. my little multitasker...
