we traveled to folkston on thursday. i picked sk up from school a little early. she was so excited about going down there and had been counting down the days until she got to go to mimi & papa's house. we got there in plenty of time for some outdoor playtime. on friday we were supposed to meet ashley, ava and bryce for lunch in town and then mimi, sk and i were going to go to jacksonville to pick up sk's new bedding for her big girl bed. but right before we were about to leave to go into town to eat i felt sk and she was warm. she and i had been playing outside and she seemed fine but then she started to look sleepy. she had 103 degree fever. so for the rest of the weekend sk stayed inside mimi & papa's house getting a dose of ibuprofen every 6 hours and just having the time of her life. seriously. you'd never know she was sick if it weren't for the weird fever. she played and played and had a great time with her mimi. she cooked alot, played with playdough, dressed up, watched some of her favorite movies, saw "snow white" for the first time and LOVED it, ate popsicles and popcorn, etc. she really had a great weekend. anyway, ava said that brycie cried when she heard that we weren't going to be at lunch. sweet girl. i'm so sorry we weren't able to see them this weekend! it was one of those weekends where nothing went as planned.......
while we were home with sicky, brycie's friday evening took a turn for the worse as well. she fell from her playset's slide and broke her arm in 2 places. jonathan called while we were eating dinner friday night and so mimi/papa went over to st. marys to relieve some friends who were watching ava while brycie was at the hospital having her arm set. ashley said bryce was very brave and i'm sure she was. i hate it for her so much!
sk's fever stayed low-grade on saturday so trey and i went down to jax to pick up the bedding and to eat at one of our favorite restaurants while sk stayed home with her mimi.
i'm worried that she has strep. i'm going to take her in tomorrow to see - i suppose it could be a little virus of some sort, but the last time she had fever with no other symptoms it was strep.
blah blah blah...what a not-so-fun post! and we didn't take one single pic! but i wanted to document our first break - bryce's cast is sure to be a hit at school AND she has a story to share about her fall & her bravery....those things always make up the silver lining when kids break a bone. we're glad she's okay. and sk's folkston weekends can't go undocumented. she wanted us to leave her down there. she didn't get to see her papa as much as she had hoped since she slept past 9 every morning and papa's tax season already has him working all day every day.
