for baby book purposes, i am marking today, 10/15/12, as hayes's best day so far. not for bragging purposes.....tomorrow may be awful. just have this feeling that she is really liking her life outside of my tummy now.
wish i had taken some pics of all those precious smiles she gave me today! but i didn't. we had quite the day....well, actually we've had quite the past several days!
sk's teacher called me on wednesday around 12:15 to come and get sk because she wasn't acting like herself - she didn't eat a bite of lunch and then nearly fell asleep at the lunch table. when i got there she was in the office half asleep in her teacher's lap. she fell asleep on the ride back home. none of this is characteristic of my no-napping, school-loving, lunch-eating big girl. her temp was 102.1. ugh.
to the sofa she went.
took her to the dr. the next day since i wasn't able to keep her temp down in between ibuprofen doses and she was diagnosed with "a virus." fast forward to today - day 6 of running a fever. it has been low-grade ever since friday, but it has lingered for this long! so i called the dr. and they wanted to see her again to be sure. she looked good, yes it's viral, no there isn't anything we can do, yes it appears to be on it's way out, and no she is no longer contagious to her peers. i think that by now we can just say she has plain ole cabin fever!
she was in a horrible mood when we got to the doctor's office. she was tired, hungry, and her energy level has just been so low. she did NOT want to sit in the sick area. i took a picture or 2 of her misery. she was TICKED that i took a pic, but i assured her that when she's much older that i'll tell her the story about how she screamed and cried at the doctor (and therefore lost her dress-up privileges for the remainder of the day) because she didn't want to sit in the sick area. and i'll tell her about how she tested me by sitting in the well area and then inching her way back while glaring at me as she stood right at the "line" that separates the sick from the well. and we'll laugh. she said that she will NOT laugh about it, but she's so wrong about that. one day....she'll laugh. and i'll have these pics for proof.
i also had to tell another sick kid to get away from my baby. seriously moms, keep your kids away from babies' faces in general but especially if they are sick! it's not like i can stick hayes over in the well area while i sit in the sick area with sk.
so here are our latest pics from last week and weekend. trey really won the hubby/daddy award this past weekend. he kept the girls quite a bit. i went to the spa on saturday and then went shopping. he let me sleep in each morning. my throat is starting to feel a bit sore and yesterday he just did everything while i went back to bed. we had a nice weekend even though sk was sick - even went to the park and had a picnic.
on 10/10/12 hayes sat in the bumbo for the first time. she likes it!
on friday, sk needed to go outside and collect leaves to bake a cake. (i just roll with it. whatever. yes, there are leaves and acorns in a frying pan on her stove. and some crayons. yummy cake to come i'm sure.) getting to wear her dress-up clothes outside is a special treat. she was pumped!
| collecting. isn't it funny that her dress-up bin has plenty of store-bought princess crowns and her favorite crown to wear is one that we made with a piece of paper, scissors, crayons and some tape. |
hayes strolled around watching the princess gather her cake ingredients....
on saturday, trey and i took our pumpkins to the park to eat lunch. sk played a little, too. her fever hovered around 100 this weekend so she didn't do too much.
| she was fever free when she held hayes. i actually thought we were in the clear on saturday, but i was wrong. |
at the park:
my little pumpkin....
her favorite pastime lately: laying on her cat mat with her lovies in her mouth while staring at the ceiling fan. she also loves to catch a glimpse of the t.v. every chance she gets!
so that's what we've been up to! hoping to send sk back to school on wednesday. thursday we'll have all of sk's little friends over for a halloween playdate to play and paint pumpkins. praying that this virus leaves her alone very soon so that she can get back to her normal activities!
and praying for more great days to come for hazie may!! great days mean her tummy and all its' parts are strengthening and feeling good! =)
I'm really not taking joy in SK's Doctor tantrum but it is hilarious. I think the pictures are great and you're right, one day she'll laugh at them. That sweet girl keeps me giggling over here, love her! (i know my turn is just around the corner!!) And that sweet baby Hayes is getting so big, she's a doll!
