listen up, people! i'm not one to brag about myself, but i'm just going to go ahead and tell you exactly what my pediatrician said about me at my 4 month appointment this morning. i heard her loud and clear! she said, "well, hayes is thriving and growing so well and you are going to think i'm crazy when i tell you this, but i think that she's just really really smart. i'm not kidding, i really do." best day of my life so far...finally, somebody really gets me.
hayes is sitting tight in the 50th percentile in weight - she was 13 pounds and 6 ounces. she was 23.6" long which is in the 25th percentile.
the dr. recommended that i go ahead and start her on solid food if i'm interested. this will help keep my hungry girl satisfied! think we'll start some rice cereal later this week.
so haysie - here are some things to note about your 4th month:
*you are apparently a little bit of a child prodigy - confirmed by dr. zimlich. (heehee heee)
*size 2 diapers
*3-6 month pjs and clothes
*still exclusively breastfed - every 3 hours. just in the last week you have been sleeping 6 hours at night after your late night feeding.
*strong attachment to mama!! this has gotten better in the past week. you enjoyed being with everyone in folkston and you were glad for anyone to hold you. and you are becoming really very fond of your daddy!
*grasping toys.
*social - mimics what i do (if i open my mouth really wide, so does haysie!!)
*loves blowing raspberries and squealing
*laughs
*rolled from back to front and front to back. rolls more easily from front to back.
*still takes prevacid once a day - working great!!
*wakes up smiley in the morning.
*moved to a sleep sack.
*your least favorite thing - your car carrier
*your favorite thing - your mommy!!! (and your hands, your paci, your swing. you love gnawing on your bibs and your lovies).
we love you baby hayes!!!
a sk funny: when we picked sk up from school today i told her about hayes's doctor's appointment. i told her that she got shots. sk said, "why did she have to get shots?" i said, "you got them at her age, too. it just keeps us healthy. you have to go in next week to get a shot to make sure you don't get the flu." she thought about that for a bit and then replied, "well. but, the flu is a musical instrument!"
cracked me up! that would be a flute, sarah kate! flute. heehee.
