trey and i took sarah kate to the 5:30 showing of beauty and the beast today. any anxiety i had about taking a 2 year old to the movie theater quickly disappeared when i realized that we were going to be sharing the theater with only 1 other family! talk about a good way to ease ME into taking sk to the movies.
but she did great and loved it! of course she has seen the movie a million times so she DID sing all the songs rather loudly and she also knows alot of the lines, but it didn't bother anyone.
when the ballroom dancing scenes came on, she just had to get up and twirl. you can see from the pic below that she could just twirl all the way down our row (& she did) without bothering anyone. she took her glasses off about half way through.
she didn't want to leave the theater. she kept saying, "one more time!"
she got home, had a bath, drank her milk and i think she was fast asleep before we even shut her bedroom door!
sk had a busy day today! i kept her home from school because she appeared to be getting a cold yesterday. her nose was really really runny and she felt kind of puny. she felt great today and her nose wasn't very runny at all, but i still kept her home just in case. plus, she slept until 9 which is when school starts! i had our house 'deep cleaned' this morning so she and i went out for breakfast. then we went out to the outlet malls to get 'miss grows real fast' a pair of 3t jeans because her 2ts are too short! and then we spent the rest of the day at home until movie time.
sk had 3 firsts today!
1: i let her ride the little carousel at the outlets. i usually just whiz past these things in attempt to avoid germs and really she never asks to get on the riding toys. but today she did. and she was so so so sweet all morning so i tried to not be 'miss neurotic' and i let her ride. she loved it and wanted to ride again. i only had enough cash for one ride....darn. ;)
#2: sarah kate is sleeping on a pillow for the first time tonight. i've offered one before but she has never wanted one. until today. i don't have a picture of this "first" but i have her video monitor right here by my side and i can assure you that she is one cozy little bug. we are going to need her crib for the new nursery so i figure i need to start easing her into what life in a "big girl bed" is going to be like. step one: pillow. ha! bless her sweet heart, she loves her crib so much. i've told her that baby hayes will be sleeping in her crib and she thinks that i meant that they will sleep in there together and she is so excited! yikes!
and finally #3: she went to the movie theater for the first time. she actually did go to a short 3D movie at disney world (mickey's philharmagic) but this was her first time going to the actual movie building (that she called a castle), got a ticket, got a big bag of popcorn and sat through a movie for an hour and a half.
