sometimes getting back into our weekly routine after a fun vacay is kind of hard! but we had a nice week. first of all, i only had to cook once! when we got home from blowing rock on monday trey went out and grabbed some sub sandwiches for our dinner. tuesday i cooked fish and we had left overs on wednesday. thursday was our monthly supper club - the hosts for the month cooked yummy lasagana & aunt lauren was so sweet to babysit for us again. sk LOVES when lauren keeps her! and then friday night some girlfriends and i took advantage of charleston's restaurant week and went out to dinner while trey and sk went on a date to their favorite greek restaurant. easy dinner week for me!
sk has been spending alot of time in the garage riding her train=)
sk got back into her school routine easily and had a fun time on tuesday and thursday. she had a playdate with one of her little friends on tuesday and a few friends on friday. all week she kept talking about mimi and papa and was really wanting to see them. she stared at our family picture for a long time and talked about everyone. "papa love me, mama."
excuse the attire. if we're home and she wants to wear big girl undies then i let her but not with pants on! she was playing with my shoes.
so guess who came to take us to lunch and to play for a while today....
i knew we needed to do something fast to hold her over until we can get down to folkston for a weekend which is what she really wants. i'm glad it worked out for them to come spend a few hours with us and we appreciate them driving that far so sk could get her mimi/papa fix (and vice versa of course).
we only went to sunday school this morning. trey had to teach with me today since my co-teacher is out of town. sarah kate went to her little sunday school class and she said she had fun=) mimi & papa arrived at noon and then we went out for bbq (sk's choice). ;)
she didn't want to take her coat off when we got home. it sure is cold and rainy up here today!
saturday was a costco/trader joes family outing day! nothing like buying toilet paper in bulk i tell ya. and it was also primary voting day for us! boy, newt really took south carolina and we were so excited about his win! onto florida they go - the process continues.
i'm 14 weeks pregnant. feeling good! i'm starting to show a little....just losing my waistline. i have my 16 week appointment a week from tuesday (the 31st). please say a prayer for me! i will have to have the glucose test at this appointment which is really really early but since i had gestational diabetes with sk then they'll test me early. i hate giving blood....they are so good with me in the labcorp here but can't always find a vein on the first try even using pediatric needles. this has always been a problem for me and i'm a fainter so it's not a good combo, but they do let me lie on a bed the whole time. if i fail the glucose test then i'll begin all the finger pricking and will test my blood sugar 4 times a day. if i pass then that will be much more pleasant for me, but i'll still have to retake the glucose test when normal people do (can't remember when that is.....much later though). hoping that i pass with this one. i probably should already be counting my carbs better than i am. i do not have any of the risk factors for diabetes (other than being over 26) but i didn't have any of them with sk either. so it's just something that i hope i can pass, but also something that i know i can manage so easily if i fail since i have experience with it. honestly, i still have my testing kit from sk so even if i pass i'll probably start testing some just to check myself because i'm psycho like that.
one more pic of my bug! creepy!!!
