the big sis.

friday was my first day flying solo with the 2 girls.  we just stayed inside all day and sk played and played and played while checking in on her little sis quite often.....

"awww, hey baby hayes!  you okay?  poor baby hayes!" (not real sure why she feels sorry for her, but she says it in a sweet little voice.)

and she thought hayes should dress-up too, so she decorated her a little....

and she got her dumbo from her bedroom to share with baby hayes!  this is a big deal.  all sk's elephants are sacred (even the elephant lovie that she bought for baby hayes is now sk's).  dumbo is one of sk's very best friends!

hayes stayed awake "playing" under her play gym for about 40 minutes yesterday!

and to really show her love for her little sis, sk rubbed dumbo's trunk on hayes's face.  really big deal!  this is why sk loves her dumbo and other "eggies" so much - she uses their trunks to rub her face before falling asleep and she also rubs their trunks on trey and i when we put her to bed.  

after all this, sk thought dumbo should just lay right on top of hayes to keep her "comfy cozy."  sk still likes to be "comfy cozy!"

to take a little break from being the best big sister, sk and i played hide and seek.  sk is the best person ever to play hide and seek with because she'll just hide right there in front of my face - takes all the guess work out for me.  here is one of her signature spots.....

"you count, i hide!"

potty breaks are necessary.  sk has an obsession with a people magazine in the bathroom that has all the details of matthew mcconaughey's wedding inside.  she loves camila's long gown and has deemed matthew a "prince."  it's all super exciting for her.

i was really sad when my mom left friday morning.  i must say that sk sure did pull through for me and made my day fun and easy.  i was worried about sk and i getting cabin fever and feeling trapped in the house so i asked her if she wanted to go drive through starbucks - usually she would jump at the chance to get a nice cup of ice water with a straw=)  but she said that she just wanted to stay home and play.  so it worked out.  this coming week will be interesting because it will be my first week flying solo and sk will probably get tired of staying home.  i think we may go over to her friend's house here in the neighborhood and play towards the end of the week.  but so far, sarah kate is doing great and we are really proud of her!
