shorts, dance, smiles, reflux, prayer request, etc. =)

~a plethora of things~

first, a prayer request.  my cousin tamara's little girl, hannah, is scheduled to have her third open heart surgery on august 8th.  most people who read this are family and are already praying for hannah, but a few readers may not already be praying.  and well, a few extra prayers are welcomed!  you can read tamara's specific prayer requests here.  the first prayer request has already been answered!!  aetna DID approve hannah's surgery to be performed at UAB by dr. dabal who performed her first two.  this was huge! please pray for hannah, tamara, dennis, and the medical team who will perform this tedious surgery.  we are praying for that sweet girl daily!

next - shorts.  i just feel like i should document when sk wears shorts since it's so rare.

dance.  i took the girls to a local studio today and signed sarah kate up for dance which starts this fall.  she'll be in the "ballet, tap and tumble" class on monday afternoons.  the studio has a very strict dress code that is right up sk's ally: PINK!  she's so pumped, she wanted to take her dress off at sign-ups and get started right away.  pink leotard, pink tights, pink dance skirt, and pink ballet shoes - what more could a girly girl ask for?

before going to the studio, we went out for lunch.  sk, hayes, dumbo and myself.  everyone had a real nice time.....
she got dumbo all settled in his chair first.  she dropped dumbo on the way out and quickly picked him up saying, "uh oh, dumbo, be careful!!"

reflux.  so after lunch we ran to publix to pick up meds for hayes.  i took her to the dr. yesterday because trey and i have been suspicious that she is struggling with acid reflux and we were right.  sarah kate was on zantac for quite a while for reflux and the dr. said that not only is it common, but that it is very common in babies whose parents or siblings have also had it.  we are hoping that this will help relieve any pain she is having after feedings.  oh, and she weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. yesterday. last monday she weighed 6 lbs. 12 oz.  way to go, baby hayes!!

smiles.  believe it or not, but after lunch and going to publix we were actually about 15 minutes early to the dance studio so sk got in the front passenger seat and i got hayes out of her carseat thinking that she may want to eat while we waited.  turns out she just wanted to sleep and SMILE at me in her sleep.  i know, i know - she didn't do it on purpose, but it was still cute so i snapped a pic.

after we got home, "aunt" lauren and her parents brought us a delicious dinner.  my sweet friend, amy, set up a "take them a meal" sign-up sheet for us online and our really awesome friends have been bringing us meals every monday and thursday night.  we appreciate this so much!!  anyway, after we ate dinner i decided to take sk to yobe for yogurt.  i miss my outings with just her!  when i asked if she wanted to go to yobe she said, "yes, i do, and daddy is coming?  daddy, come with us, we love you daddy!"  that was the sweetest thing!  she said that same thing to hayes today - hayes started to cry in the car and she looked over and said, "awww, baby hayes, don't cry - we love you baby hayes!"  anyway, trey insisted that just sk and i go so he stayed home with hayes and we brought him a treat.  so tomorrow we will be diving into that delicious looking pecan pie that lauren made for us!
my dessert date
ahhh....the nap nanny.  wish we had had this for sk.  it's great for babies with reflux because it elevates their upper body.  hayes loves to snooze in this.

the maids came to clean our house today so after we ran our errands i took the girls on a drive over to isle of palms and sullivans before coming back to the house.  perfect timing - they were just leaving when we got home.  and both girls took a nice car nap....

and finally, a pic of trey and hayes.  he is so good with his girls....so thankful for him.
