some firsts.

we've had some "firsts" over the past few days.

on monday we took our first 'family of 4' walk around the neighborhood (well, 5 if you include beau - he always goes too):

until hayes is a few months old, she lays flat in the back of this stroller - kind of underneath sk.  eventually, the seat attachment that sk is sitting in will move to the back and will attach back there for hayes. 

there she is!  didn't wake up at all so either she really enjoyed her outing or she has no clue she went on one. ;)

operation loose the baby weight is underway!  i could probably just stand outside a few minutes each day and sweat it all off by next month.  it was such a hot walk! 

hayes had her first playdate yesterday morning.  she never woke up so i'm not sure that her little friend, ames, finds her all that fun.  ha!  we went over to the murrell's house and sk really enjoyed herself and playing with alden.  i really thought i was going to actually make it over there by 10, but alas, hayes wanted to eat right as we were about to walk out of the door so we arrived around 10:30.  not too shabby i guess.  no pics - no fun i know.

after leaving amy's i took the girls out to lunch for the first time!  or i guess i should say that it was the first time hayes has joined us.  sk chose the "smoothie store."  sk and i had wraps and green smoothies while hayes snoozed.

hayes wore this oh so cute monogrammed giraffe gown/sack for the first time yesterday which doesn't photograph well.  i have learned that light pink just doesn't. anyway, she was cute as a bug=)

another recent first:  trey gave hayes her very first bottle feeding friday night on the day she turned 2 weeks.  i have alot of milk stored up in the fridge and freezer so we are going to eventually replace a late night nursing with a bottle so i can see how much she is getting.  she wasn't sure about it at first but then she scarfed it down.  she's a hungry baby!  i did take a pic of this but i'm not going to share it.  trey was only in his boxers and the baby was kind of laying in a way that covered his boxers, therefore he just looks like a naked person feeding a baby.  it is not blog-worthy material;)

so those are some firsts!  the "first" that i'm SOOOOO looking forward to blogging the most is:  hayes slept through the night for the first time.  she is SOOOO not interested in this.  she partied pretty hard last night.  doesn't she know that mommies who have other kids cannot "sleep when the baby is sleeping"??!!  so in the middle of the night when i get frustrated about this i just think about our contractor and his wife and remember that they would give anything in the world to be up in the middle of the night with their baby girl.  and then it's okay because i know this will pass all too fast and i just need to enjoy my late night snuggles.  i really mean all that - but at the same time, i'm about to go find my "babywise" book and re-educate myself on how to improve our night sleeping. ;)
