sk and i are flying solo until tomorrow night. trey is in atlanta at a conference. i'm not going to lie....sk has said a couple of times, "i want my daddy!" but we have really had such a great past 2 days together. she keeps me laughing. so far since trey has been gone we've lost bella, found bella, and we've shoveled the biggest rat i've ever seen from bella's paws into the marsh. the rat's tail must have been as long as sarah kate is tall. his teeth were impressive, too. (shiver). sk said, "bella!! don't eat that! you stop it right now bella! oh gosh, mama!" then when she saw me go to the garage she said, "you got daddy's shovel, mama?" ha! she was all about helping with all stressful situations concerning the cat. from losing the cat to disposing of the rat....she was ALL over it. i hope bella doesn't try to sleep quite so close to my face tonight. i know what she was trying to eat for dinner and it's disgusting.

anyway, we've eaten all our meals together. we've enjoyed a playdate with neighborhood friends. it was sk and 4 neighborhood boys. one tackled her to the ground (really impressive tackle for a 3 year old). i was so proud of sk for popping back up and shaking it off, "i okay, i okay!!!" i'm thinking our afternoon neighborhood playdates are going to toughen miss cautious right up!
sarah kate has completely bossed the pants off beau ("get down beau!" "wake up beau-beau!" "you stop that right now beau!" "no barking, beau!", etc.). we are both out of our personalized stationary so we went to pick out more today. sk went with a hot pink and lime green pattern and i went with a basic ivory w/ red trim. ;) we went grocery shopping: whole foods yesterday and publix today....what's new. we live at the g.s. and sk loves going. she likes to browse the icecream aisle and remind me about her love for all delicious frozen treats. sk went to school today and was so excited to see me pull through the carpool line. her teacher said, "sk, tell mama what you made today with your handprint." and sk said, "i made turkey!" can't wait to get that masterpiece up on the art-cable.

she's cooked lots of yummy meals for me in her kitchen. and she's danced and danced along with 'angelina ballerina.' none of this is really important or extra exciting, but we are so enjoying each other after being separated this past weekend. i'm so thankful that i'm able to spend so much time with my special girl. of course, we'll be glad to see trey pull in the drive tomorrow.

she's eating a bowl of "fore fakes" in this picture. aka...corn flakes. she can say "corn." she can say "flakes." put them together...."fore fakes." took me a while to figure out what she wanted!

love my girl time!
and unrelated to girl time, i'm pretty sure sk is SUPER proud to call us her parents:

we're working on her. she is already pretty goofy so she fits in just fine....

happy tuesday! (mine just went downhill fast because bella just came and curled up in my lap....all i can think about is her rat breath.)
