it's hot, etc.....

it has been so terribly HOT here lately! an afternoon swim was a must today so we took a wagon ride to our neighborhood pool....

let me into the pool area, please!

sk thinks she can swim by herself so we've discovered that this "puddle jumper" works well for her. she starts a week-long swim lesson mid-july. how not-so-cute is this one, though?? sent trey for it but in his defense, it was the only kind left!

headed home after our refreshing swim...she couldn't stop laughing during her swim and it was so cute....didn't get a pic since i was in the pool with her! trey came after work and swam with us for a little while but i didn't think to get out and take a pic!

in other news, sarah kate has thoroughly enjoyed being at vacation bible school so far this week. thursday will be the last day. i'm working in the craft room and sk is just having the best time in the nursery....playing outside, doing crafts, and who knows what else?! she's not really part of VBS ....she's just in the toddler nursery, but they are still doing all kinds of fun things like the big kids, they just don't travel from station to station. today she had dirt and food on her face, paint on her outfit, and dirt under her nails so i can only assume she is having a blast. she has made a craft each day so far....i'll have to post some pics sometime when it's over. when i picked her up today she was in the back of the room where the music was playing and she was just twirling around and around. what a nut! =)

oh, and also, father's day of course made me think of my dad. ummm....papa bear, when we are together next week we need to take a pic together!! we just don't have many recent pics together! this is the most recent i could find of the 2 of us...FIVE years ago=) but don't we look like a classy pair..ha! =) fun day!

and finally, we still need to continue to pray for loads and loads and loads of rain to cover southeast ga and northeast fl. the wildfires are just out of control, 2 florida firefighters have lost their lives, and the smoke from the ga/fl fires is so horrible that WE are even getting it up here in charleston when the winds are just right for it. awful.

"Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, Lord our God. Therefore our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this." - Jeremiah 14:22
