so monday we headed over to the beach house for a girl's stay at the beach. the little girls had the best time on the beach together monday! sk was a complete maniac and made me a nervous wreck because the waves were a little rough and she just has zero fear of the ocean. she is so used to going to the beach here at home where there is always a huge tidal pool so we can let her go out far and it's no big deal....not so in fernandina! anyway, they had a great time nonetheless. we went out to dinner monday night but before we left, ashley and i took some pics of the girls playing out in the yard. looking back on my pics i found this pic. i didn't notice it at the time but it definitely says ALOT about what was happening to my girl.....
that's right. see that little finger in her left ear....she had a darn ear infection! she didn't take a nap on monday and when we got to the restaurant she was seriously staring to fall asleep at the table. it was actually kind of funny. but i felt her and thought she felt warm so i had my mom/ashley get my plate to go and i went ahead and took her back to the beach house and checked her temp - it was 103. mama and i took her to the urgent care clinic the next morning and she had an ear infection so the dr. gave us meds. she did really well the rest of the trip....the only problem was that we felt like we should keep her off the beach so she only got one day on the beach! she had a good time inside with mimi ....playing with play-dough, coloring, playing with princess cards and watching her dvds, etc. we took her downtown wednesday morning to shop around, see the fish and to get some ice cream (who doesn't want ice cream at 10:00 in the morning?!). we went to brett's for dinner wednesday night and she really enjoyed getting out again. we also met ashley, ava and bryce for lunch on tuesday at one of our favorite little lunch spots on the plantation before they headed home. the girls got to feed bread to the fish and turtles and they enjoyed playing with the trains at the monkey barrel. so, although it wasn't the "beach" vacation we were planning, we still had a great time. we are praying that everyone is WELL for our august "kriner family" beach vacay!

sk and i headed on home today (thursday). we stopped in pooler to use the restroom and when we got back to the car sk decided that she actually wanted to drive the rest of the way=)
but alas, she decided to just sit in the back and do this....
thank you so so much mimi for inviting us down for a girl's trip! we really had such a great time even with an unexpected drs. visit!
now, i'm back in charleston and we're all unpacked.....relaxing tonight and THEN i've got to get back to work on sk's bday party decorations! i've taken about a 3 week break and now i have alot to do! i'm finished with her bday banner and a few of her cupcake toppers and a few of the centerpiece decorations. got alot of work to do. happy early 4th to all our friends and family!
Katie, the pictures are PRECIOUS! I am so sorry that SK's beach days were cut short by a stinky ole' ear infection, but it looks like she had a great time anyway! She is such a DOLL! And, I feel you on the birthday decorations! Jackson's party is TOMORROW and I SHOULD be working on the few things that I need to finish, but what am I doing instead??? Reading BLOGS!!! haha! ;)
