weekend.

so thursday evening sarah doodle wasn't feeling well and was running a low-grade fever. ugh. i always hate it when this happens....no cold, no runny nose, no barfing....just enough of a fever to make her easily irritated. we gave her some ibuprofen and she went on to bed just fine. later in the evening, trey's parents (lala and grandoug) came in from atlanta for a weekend visit. sk loves her lala and grandoug and loves having the company & showing off and having people adore her (and bring her the coolest gifts.....you know, that doesn't hurt a thing!!!) so i was so relieved when she woke up friday morning without fever and seeming to feel good. her lala and grandoug love her and want to be around her no matter how she acts/feels but let's face it, a child with a fever throwing fits out of frustration is not quite as enjoyable as a fun, goofy, and sweet child.
lala and grandoug went with us to gymnastics friday morning and enjoyed watching her do all her little tricks. sk began to show some signs of irritability while we were in gym so i took her into the dr. after lunch just to have her ears checked out. she checked out great....ears, lungs....everything looked great. her 2 year molars are already starting to cause some swelling but nothing major yet. sooooooo.....dr. said she could have a little virus which they can't do anything for. as it turns out sarah kate kept a little low grade fever on/off throughout the whole weekend. she just wasn't her normal self. she did have some great times/moments in there though. friday night we went out to dinner which we thought may be a horrible experience since she had a complete meltdown on the way to the restaurant because she wanted to wear her crocs. but she actually had a good ole time at the boathouse eating, coloring, talking to us and all. saturday she kept a little fever most of the day but we took her on a picnic at the park and she really enjoyed herself! she ate well, ran around, played with lala & grandoug, and just enjoyed the fresh air. she would love to just live outside. she took a nice nap, woke up fever free, played on the porch with bubbles, ate a great dinner, and then before bed her little fever was back. i know we just have to wait these little viruses out and i know she's a kid & they get viruses...such is life, but i DO wish that she had been fever/virus free for her lala & grandoug's visit.
also, on saturday it was trey's parent's wedding anniversary! trey grilled the best steak and we had hashbrown casserole and asparagus. and a caprese' salad. it was all so good and was nice to just be home for dinner while sk slept peacefully upstairs!
today (sunday) sarah kate is still running a little fever. trey and i had a church meeting at 9:15 so lala & grandoug were more than happy to just stay home and play with her so we didn't have to put her in the nursery. they played and played and she had a blast! at the moment, lala & grandoug are on their way back to atlanta, trey and i are relaxing and watching sk play in an old t-shirt, diaper, colored socks & crocs (i gave in today in order to keep the peace). she looks hilarious. praying that the fever is gone by tomorrow but right now she still has one. we won't make it to playdate tomorrow but hoping she's fever free for 24 hours before school tuesday morning. we'll see! anyway, thanks to lala & grandoug for visiting and loving sk no matter how she is feeling. and a big thanks for the fun easter gifts that sk will certainly enjoy!
sarah kate is 20 months old today!!! can't believe it. i'll do a second post for that! below are a few pics from this weekend.
digging into her easter basket! too cute! lala & grandoug brought her some really cool gifts!
just walking and talking with lala!
this bubble mower is not only a blast to push but it will be a GREAT bubble machine to have going while we're out playing in the yard.
lala pushed sk in her little swing. notice how sk wouldn't dream of dropping her bubble wand and the top to the bubbles!
sweet baby girl!
swinging with grandoug....
she knows how to turn that thing on/off and she likes to be in control of it!
this is just how we're rolling today! comfy mixed with a little bit of redneck.
such a mess! with a mouth full of my lunch...she comes up to anybody who may be eating and says "more, more, more" or "bite, bite, bite."
