21 months.

sarah katherine lucy, you are 21 months old today! in just 3 short months we will celebrate your second birthday and i can't believe it. march was a fun (but windy) month and now we have welcomed april and we're looking forward to Easter, many beach days, some boat rides and sunshine. your spring break is coming up the week before Easter and we will leave charleston on the 15th to head to mimi/papa's for a few nights and then over to the beach house for the rest of your break for a little lucy family beach vacation. i pray that everyone stays well and that we have safe travels. we'll have a blast for sure.....sure hope the Easter bunny knows his way to the beach house=)

so....21 months...here are some things you've been up to lately.....
*you weigh around 26 pounds
*you're in a size 5 diaper full time now
*you were working on your 2 year molars at the beginning of your 2oth month & although you are feeling great i'm not sure if they've actually popped through yet
*you started really talking in terms of ownership this month....mama's car, daddy's shoes, kate's house (you call yourself kate), alden's juice (you nor alden even drink juice but you call your new sippy cup alden's juice b/c she has the same one), mama's nose, beau-beau's chair, mimi's lotion, papa's cows, mama's jeans,etc. everything just has to belong to someone!
*you are able to wear shoes other than crocs without having a complete meltdown but you still like to wear them. now you say, "Croc Wear?"
*you have a flower bow that you are obsessed with and you don't want to wear any other bow. this DOES still cause a meltdown. i have called your aunt barbara to order you a few more. you can even reach up and feel for the center of the "flower" to make sure it's the right bow. you actually say "flower bow" quite a bit.
*you moved up to the "beasts" gymnastics class so you are no longer a "birdie." you moved up just a few weeks after alden moved up and you both seem to be enjoying the new class! there are 20 kids in there! big class and bigger kids! last friday you participated in all of the skills and even waited your turn rather patiently (you know....i had to hold onto your shirt or hands but you didn't throw a fit). you did the balance beam, bars, and a little tumbling.
*you do not like for me to pull out my laptop. you say, "puter off puter off puter off."
*you know your extended family members very well even though they don't live near us. we talk about them every day and you usually bring them up. just yesterday on the way to the grocery store you said, "Ty Belle" (mimi's dogs...have no earthly idea why you were thinking about ty or belle....) which led to "Pooper" (cooper is ava/bryce's dog) which led to "Ashee" and then "AvaBryce." it's always fun to find out what's on that mind of yours & lately your cousins have certainly been on your mind so i'm glad you'll get to see them soon. we are taking you to their little dance recital on the 16th. and i know they'll come over to the beach to play in the sand with you while we're down there.
*oh, and the best news is that you say "please" now. not only do you say it without having a meltdown but you say it without prompting! it just clicked i suppose. now i'm having trouble with telling you "no" since you ask so politely...."CRACKER PEASE CRACKER PEASE" all the time. you say "tank you." i say, "your welcome." and then you say "welcome." ha! whew...thought you'd never willingly say "please."
