a class party & a dance recital.

thursday was sarah kate's last day of playschool before her spring break which is this coming week. so they had their little class easter party - for her age group this just means some special easter treats at snack time;) next year she'll be in the two's and they'll participate in the school egg hunt, but for now all holiday parties are centered around the snack table. parents are not invited to the parties for this age group so when i took sk to school on thursday i gave her teachers my camera and asked for them to snap a pic or two if they were able. it may seem strange that parents are not invited but i know exactly why.....we cause problems for this age group! they all are dropped off by their mamas and then we HAUL out of there! out of sight, out of mind and no tears from babies. BUT if any mama(s) start coming into the classroom then they all start getting upset because it makes them want their mamas so we all just stay away until pick up time. next year when they're older we will be invited to their parties. they're already just about over all that anyway.

i have no idea how they get all these almost 2 year olds to sit so politely around this table. doesn't even look like anyone is attempting to flip their plate over. looks like sarah kate is investigating her food. at home she will investigate every inch of her cracker to see if there is even a little piece broken off because if there is she'll just give it to beau. picky much?

this cookie must have met her approval;)

this is a nice look to give your teacher...heehee. sk and her little classmates have grown so much this year! they truly went from a class full of babies to a class full of busy toddlers....pickup is hilarious. pretty sure time-out is used quite often at this point. i don't think sk has had to go to time out just yet or if she has her teachers haven't mentioned it to me. oh to be a fly on the wall in this precious class! we are so glad we went ahead and enrolled her. she has made some sweet friends, learned alot, and has really enjoyed her sweet teachers.

then on friday, trey, sk, beau and i came down to folkston. sk and i will be here until next sunday (easter) or monday. trey will come back down on thursday to join sk and myself over at the beach for a few nights. but yesterday, trey and i took sk to jacksonville for lunch and a little shopping. then we went to st. marys to see ava and bryce at their dance recital! they did so great!!! we were so proud of them and sk was so excited to see them dance=)
i didn't have my good camera with me, plus we weren't extremely close to the dance floor so my pics aren't that good, but i still wanted to post a couple. love these girls so much! they are getting so big! they are so sweet and are just so special to us. sk loves them and wants to be just like them. when we got back to mimi/papa's she showed us how they danced....pointed her toe and spread her arms out just right...it was hilarious! here are just a couple of pics of our little ballerinas:

group shot...a&b are on the far right of this pic (b is kind of hidden by someone's hat), but i couldn't get a clear shot....should have given my camera to uncle trey since he was standing up! we were super proud of big and little emma as well! they are on the far left! they all did great!

ugh...this pic quality is so bad, but here they are....ava is standing behind bryce. love their hair...they looked just like perfect little ballerinas!
those are the only 2 that turned out. i know ashley got some nice ones so maybe she'll send me some!

sk sat with her mimi some during the program, but the majority of the time she wanted papa to hold her....he was standing up in the back so she could probably get a better view (plus, she just really likes being with her papa). we were sad that we couldn't stick around to talk to a & b. sk's diaper leaked (sorry about that papa) and so after they were done we headed out. but we'll see ava and bryce again this coming week sometime and they're going to join us for some fun in the sun on thursday!

when we got back to folkston we played outside and let sk feed treats to the horses which she really enjoyed! trey and i then went up to uncle harold's pond house for my "little" cousin scott's engagement party. we are so happy for scott & abby...such a sweet couple. mimi put sk to bed and stayed home while papa "partied" and then they switched places=) i should have taken some pics of the party AND of sk with the horses......

we are looking forward to: spending time here in folkston, spending time over at the beach house, our cousin's big egg hunt and easter. we are going to ava and bryce's church for easter this year and then we will join them for their yummy easter brunch/lunch at their neighborhood clubhouse. i'm sure sk won't want to sit with the easter bunny, but i'll have my camera ready just in case. i know i'll have lots of pics to share by the end of next week;) yay for spring break!

UPDATE: sk woke up this morning with a runny nose and by lunch time she had a 102.1 degree fever. i'm hoping she is not getting whatever i have....i'm on a z-pack right now for a sore throat. the dr. went ahead and put me on an antibiotic on friday to try to speed up my recovery since the sore throat has been around for over a week (but i never had fever or a runny nose). we were able to get her temp lowered with some ibuprofen. she enjoyed a drive out to see papa's new baby calves who are over in aunt ethel's field and then she came back & ate a great lunch (lots of fruit). hopefully this is just an ole cold & nothing more. she hasn't been sick in so long so i was afraid of this happening. please say a prayer for my girl! hope she feels better real soon so that she can enjoy her little beach stay. she is napping peacefully in her crib now....hope so much that her ears stay clear!! i'll give her some claritin tonight which should help dry her out a little....she has certainly spent alot of time outside & at the barn and she may be having some allergy issues...who knows!
